If this issue were about a real sport like football then I might give a rats ass. It's golf, which much like softball isn't a sport, it's an activity for people who don't want to really do anything but hang out and drink beer.

exactly, i would love to see womens reaction to a man qualifying for a womens tournament. Equality is equality. You cant pick and choose. Remember there is lots of money to be made in golf and i am sure most amateur male golfers would win the womens events.

that being said i have no problem with anika playing. HOwever i think she will be awful and end up around 12 over par and no were near making the cut. Its all a big publicity stunt that will just embarass her.

This has been beaten to death on sports radio over the past couple of weeks.

She's even come out and made a statement that she wouldn't have even considered trying to qualify, but apparently her agents lobbied for several weeks to get her in there.

I expect she won't make the cut, and that'll be it.

lets be honest here. if women and men are truely equal, which we all know they are obviously not. then there shouldnt even be a mens and womens sports, simply sports. I am not saying men are better than women or that women are better than men, only that we are totally different. on average men are better in sports, and women are better at multiple task efforts. ya dont ever hear of a man trying to get into an all womens military or boarding school, but the womens rights advocates are always trying to get little girls into all male schools. and once they get there they cant hang, even though they are given lightend duties and special treatment.

if women truely want to be equal to men then I say let them. let them pay more for car insurance like we do. let all the funding they get for breast cancer be the same as the funding that goes twards male orientated cancers. let them be held to the same sexual harassment guidlines as we are. let them work the same construction as we do. even legally they are held to a different standard. example a woman has a child, suffocates it, and throws its body in a dumpster. what happens, she gets a few years probation. a man gets upset, shakes his child not even killing it but making it have developemental disabilities. he gets 3 life sentances. he lost his temper and did not mean to do what he did, where as the woman calculated, and decided to kill the child. she gets off, while he spends the rest of his life in prison.

I have very little sympathy for the womens rights movement. if things were trueyl equal, they would be screaming and crying for things to return to the old ways. in america, any woman so long as she has a child, can get support for virtually any thing if she wants it. she can get a free education, food stamps, medicare ect. it is not so for men. there are already so many programs out there to help women, and so little to help men. if things were truely equal, there wouldnt be a woman on this earth happy with it. as far as I am concerned they can go cry somewhere else...freak
