Keep up your levels of antioxidants, but don't overload on any one type as pro-oxidant effects may occur at high doses (i.e., beta-carotene).
Good choices include:
Grape Seed extract
Carotenoids (lycopene, lutein, etc.)
Mixed tocopherols
Ascorbic acid
NAC
r-ALA
and....about 1.5 - 2.0 grams total of EPA and DHA per day.
Much of the current lit points to inflammation as a major factor in CAD.
Have your high-sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) measured along with homocysteine. If these are elevated even with normal cholesterol, your risk of a heart attack can be up to 5-fold increased.
About 35% of people out there with normal cholesterol still have MIs. Cholesterol levels are only part of the puzzle.
With family history, I'd be avoiding the orals.
