Ammonia smelling urine?

I read an article some time ago that says if you are doing cardio and you notice your sweat smells like ammonia that you should stop and get some carbs and protein in you because your body is breaking down protein for fuel.

I notice that my sweat doesn't smell like ammonia but when I take a piss like an hour later it smells a lot like ammonia. Should I be concerned that I am going to hard on my cardio? I am trying to lose more fat than muscle.

are you taking ala or any eca stacks or anything? i know those can have an affect for some
 
yeah ammonia is a product of deanimation, it would reasonable to assume that your body is catabolizing your protein. Post your diet/time and routine/times as well as all the stuff you take.

whats your cardio like anyway?
 
Normally my cardio is 30 mins on the elliptical machine with my HR kicking at like 160bpm, I'm 21.

But Saturdays I try and kick my ass. For example, I will do 30 mins on the elliptical then kickbox the heavy bag for 20 mins after that.

Today I did 10 mins on the elliptical to warm up then I did worked out my shoulders (5x5 standing press, 5 1 rep cleans, 2 sets of front raises and 2 of lateral raises) then I did some pullups. Shoulder work was about 30 minutes. Then I did 15 mins back on the elliptical . So total time in the gym was under an hour.

After my cardio I took in a gram of vitamin c and some bcaa pills.

10 minutes later when I got home I drank a post wo shake of 60 grams protein 60 grams carbs (~45 of that being dextrose) with 250mg ALA and multivitamin.

As far as supplements go just my post workout whey, ALA (only post workout), and a multivitamin.

I am 6'4" 195lbs and I guess about 15 or 16% bf.

Should I go for a bpm of 120 instead of 160bpm on the cardio?
 
Someone personal trainer told me going over 85% HBPM will catabolize lean tissue...although I don't know how much credibility his words hold.
 
I've read something similar, but I also want to condition my heart as well as my muscles so if I lose a little here and there in the persuit of perfection what can ya do....<laughs at self>

<sigh> bulking is so much more fun
