You know how british people come here and sound all exotic, do we really sound "Exotic" to them ? if we went to england on vaction or something ?

The british, on the whole do not see amercians as being assholes.. though we mostly do see americans as being a bit 'wacky' i.e. eccentric. Many british are envious of the higher-standard of living in the states and the higher earning potential..... contary to many americans perceptyion.. the english on the whole are poor.. with a poor standard of living.. I am 3 years out of university with a PhD and I am still earning 25k per year (little more than 30k $)... Rents are £500 for a small flat... so you can see that money doesn't go far... we are also envoius of the success of your industry.......
America has something we british dont have - pride in being their nationality... Britain is actually a very dissillusioned and perpetually sad country.........
Some Americans do appear to be a bit dip-shit... i.e. the audeinces of Springer...... (this is the face of america that we often see)
America isn't too popular amongst some right now because of the Kyoto agreement...
I like Americans and America. I hope to move to america or Canada in a few years time...

The British do NOT think that Americans are assholes. We think that some of you are a bit strange (Jerry Springer audiences do come to mind) but then every country has weirdos (Britain included).
Regarding the accent, as the rest of the world (including Britain) sees loads of American programs on TV/cinemas the American accent is very familiar to us. Hence an American in Britain would not be seen as having a unique accent.

the british view of americans is skewed by tv. so a lot of brits think americans r gun toting rednecks and that u either live in crack ghettoes or beverly hills.
u'll find few people anti american though so should have a good time here. but dont think chicks will find ur accent cool.

I don't want to sound all negative about the UK... I am just feeling stressed trying to organise moving from South London to West London.. whilst working at the same time and the bank and the government asking for their student loans repaid... other than that life is good... training is going fucking brilliant and I have a bird...

Na, i love america, hope to move there when i graduate. As for your accent, i think its pretty normall, i mean every film i goto i hear it! Trouble is, when english ppl are put on US T.V ... we all sound like the queen ?
You can always spot an American in London. They are the ones always rushing around, being rude, carrying on a fast paced and hectic lifestyle. Watch at the museums, they rush in, do the tour with eyes darting left and right, feet continusously moving and then out the door to the next thing on their agenda.
Brits are more laid back, they value their leisure time highly, and despite what you may think with James Bond ordering martinis all the time, beer is the best seller there.
I love England. Nothing like picking up an English and taking him home to bed. The accent is fascinating.

well if you want to see laid back Americans you must def. visit those of the southern persuasion. In Highschool I went to school with a guy from London, he had lived a few years in NY and thought it was almost strange in the contrast between people in NY and TX

A guy who was in the military there in the US, specifically in Texas, said he hadn´t seen so many fat whales in his life! And that was 10 years ago... He says the average american has a strange idea about europe and the head full of stereotypes...
Last week i found an american guy at night across the border in Spain, he was quite drunk... This guy was skinny though... He asked me how many brothers and sisters i had, you know, in catholic countries people have 5 or 6 children... I told him i have 2, but this is above the average... He was surprised by "how white" people were and about the quantity of cars we have here, he was expecting some bulls and horses across the streets certainly...
