their time starts ticking soon as they're off the show. 2-3 years of mediocre success max. Then it's real job time!
Where are all the real world, big brother, survivor, etc. "celebs" from 5 years ago? Name 1 who's still starring in an A-list movie, or selling out arenas? You can't.
If you want serious success - avoid that cheesy primetime shit. Focus on serious work. Worked well for Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Beyonce and Jessica Alba.

these fake reality shows are CHEAP to produce, cheesy but bring high ratings. So networks buy them up in droves from various la "production companies". The "talent" gets paid shit. The camera guy probably makes more money than the people in it! (seriously).
And after the show is done, some other cheap knockoff is bought - and the "talent" is thrown to the trash and on their own.
I could write a "big brother" spinoff. Have a casting call with 1,000 nobodies. Sign them to a "$4,000" a month salary for 5 months of shooting. They shit themselves. Sell the episodes for $500,000 each to the network. All profit baby!
End of season, all the actors get big heads, get agents, want to 'negotiate' in the millions - bye bye! Another casting call.
Even William Morris Agency won't sign reality show stars. That should tell you something.
