Hey,I'm a new member to this board and I have a couple questions for you guys.I'm a 46 yr. old male and I'm thinking of doing a cycle. This would be my first ever and I could use input from some veterans.I've been checking out the boards here and I see some posts from guys in there 40's.Are there many in this age group that juice? Are the risks that much more for a man my age?Are the sides any greater?I.E. hailoss, gyno, atrophy? The cycle I'm thinking of is a simple one.300-500mg of test enth or cyp for 8 or 10 wks.I would use anti-es (not sure which one)and follow with clomid ther.My goal is 10-15 lbs muscle + increase strength,is that possible on this cycle?
My stats are 6' 190lbs,bf not sure.I started back lifting 6 yrs ago and been hittin it hard for the last 2.I lift 3-4 times a wk for 1-1.5 hrs and my gains have been coming slow here lately.BTW I just had blood tests done fri. and I'll find out next wk. how my test lvls are,if there low I'll prob get a script, but I dont think it would be anywhere around 300-500mg a week.I'm not sure if I want to be on HRT forever.Any comments or advise will be appreciated, thanks.

Thought about GH? Ask your doctor about it, if he/she will prescribe test and GH you could absolutely achieve your goals in 10 to 12 weeks. IMO.

depending on what level your natural test is at, I think you may be quite happy running lower levels of test than you are thinking of running ... thereby reducing your risks

if test levels are low, getting them back to higher levels will be good for the heart. my heart generally feels better on test in moderate amounts (the only thing that does not seem better are my balls) but if I am on orals or some other AAS for long then I start to feel negatively effected

At 46, I would strongly consider Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). This would be a smaller dose basically forever under the care of a Dr.

Sometimes your insurance may cover it or not. It's a more common topic with more search material over at www.anabolicfitness.com

I'm 43 and I'll be juicing till the day they shoot me off my motorcycle.

Avoid fina like the plague. It aggravates the hell out of the prostate in 20 year olds... worse for guys 30 and beyond.

I would reccomend you consider longer cycles than 8-10 weeks. I've been on for 12 weeks and will be running at least 12 more. I'm not recommending you go that long... but to me 12-16 weeks is a minimum.

Make sure you put some money into Anti's E's. Liquidex is my favorite.

The cycle I would recommend for you is:

week 1-16 Test enanthate 500mg week
week 1-16 deca 300mg week
week 1-7 25mg d-bol ED
week 9-16 100mg Winstrol EOD

I will also give you my 2cc's on safety and side effects: the dangers of juice exist primarily in the media... not in the real world. Anabolic steroids if anything appear to be a life extension therapy.

Thanks, George, for the validation.
To Dieman, I'm 40-something as well. Use your maturity and foresight and do it right. Nothing against the yougsters, but sometimes they are so eager at 19 to get big and ripped that caution is thrown to the wind. My "settled" lifestyle allows me to make sure that the diet, sleep, and exercise part is in order, and the juicing is adjunct, rather than the entire focus.
As for as HRT forever, hey, why not? That's what got me to the point of cycling in the first place, and I personally see no reason not to continue if my health is good. I like the feeling (low endogenous test/GH, etc, is no bowl of cherries, I can tell ya! ;-)
As fara as scripts, 200/ wk is probably the max you'll see; you may be able to get Arimidex from the doc (monitoring lipids). GH is a possibility, too.

Juice and Aging

I am 59, and did my first cycle at age 58. I have done 3 cycles:

500 Sust
400 Deca

750 Test Enth
400 Deca

30 Mg. D-bol 5 weeks
1000 Test Enth
400 Primo
Fina 150 EOD for 5 weeks

You can juice when you are 100 with no problem. The only things you need to keep a close check on are BP (D-bol and Fina will run it way up), PSA (if your score is low you are fine- during that last cycle I had mine checked and it was 1.5) and cholesterol (longer term) and liver values. My liver values were well within limits even on that last cycle.

Older juicers need to use Arimidex or Liquidex to keep estrogen (water retention) down and control BP.

I went from 173 lbs to 220 with 18% bodyfat.

As you get toward 55 and beyond, dont do sets with less than 10 reps and stay away from drop sets and heavy negatives. Do 10 to 12 and your ligaments and tendons will stay healthy.

My next cycle will include HGH, 1000 Test, 30 Mg D-bol, 500 EQ and Fina at the end.

Use your HCG and Clomid and your axis will pop back in line. My natural level was at 400 4 weeks after that last cycle.

I feel great, rut like a weasel, and have no problems sleeping.

You may need an ACE inhibitor to bring down BP when on D-bol.

Doing gear is not about age. It is about your body's response to the substances. If you manage your body, you can juice forever.

Most of the guys on this board are young and dont even know anyone above 50 who is on gear. They are all worried about how long they can use it. I think the answer to that question is covered above.
