Alternatives to Accutane

Just went to a Dermatologist because my PC doctor wouldn't give me the script for Accutane because it is a strong drug, and can possibly be hepatoxic. Saw one of the most accredited Dermatologists in the Miami area and he said that it was a federal law that you can't prescribe Accutane unless other options have been exhausted, because if he were audited he could be held liable if anything goes wrong.... Any legal buffs out there know if this is true or not...

Next... he prescribed 2 topicals for me
Triaz 9% cleanser
and
Keralac 35% lotion

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THESE WORK??

My skin really isn't that bad..it actually look better than it feels, meaning when you run your hand across my skin it feels rough and bumpy...very few pustules but my back and chest and upper arms are covered in tiny almost chill bump size non-pustuous bumps. Anyone else experience this?

So since I'm now gonna have to wait a month or two for another consultation with him are there any EFFECTIVE OTC products...I started the B12 route for a few weeks at 5grams per day... does that work....ie: dosage, efficacy, time before you see results.

On another note..KUDOS !! for this site its moderators and members, I'm new here and have learned alot already.

I have the exact same prob right now, you cant see the acne but you can feel it. It's all over my shoulders, chest, and upper back... probably hair follicles getting stimulated from the AAS usage.

I tried the b5 and that didn't really do too much for me, my skin isn't very oily to begin with and this stuff I've got on my back & shoulders don't really seem like infected pustules (whiteheads) but more like clogged pores or something like that, just bumpy.

I've never tried those cleansers but topicals never did much for me or anyone I've met...

had triaz 3%, tell him to put you on some orals, he's starting you out way light. Next it will be like tetracycline, then minocycline, then some other anti-biotic maybe even cephalexin, and THEN you'll be able to hit the accutane.

Go to this web site and look under steroid acne. Lots of information. Hope this helps some.

have him prescribe you tazorac...its a topical ointment similar to retin-a...works great.. i only have the funny looking bumps on my shoulders/arms..but i use the taz for pimples on my jawline shoulders neck

Thanks for the advice guys, my PC doctor already gave me monocycline and Keflex ( Cephalexin ) and neither of them worked. Guess I'll go using the B5 and using the topicals he prescribed for a month...go back with my medical file from my primary care doc showing the use of monocycline, and then maybe he'll give me the stuff. If I still need it...

Thanks guys

I had the same problems.. it seemed as though I had acne deep under my skin.. no white heads etc... just bumps. Nothing worked. I finally stumbled upon this...

www.b5supplements.com

It works. A bunch of guys at my gym are using it now too!

I've went to my doc, told him that I've been to like 10different doctors for like 5 yrs and they gave me all this bullshit pills and they didnt work. My acne isnt as bad but it's bad enough I couldnt put up with it. So I told him not to give me any more bullshit and to give me accutane or I'm gonna killmyself if he doesnt. (that last part was a joke) but he gave it to me. Now I have no insurance and I only have a 2 month supply left. Fuck, isnt there anywhere where we can buy this stuff on the net? I mean, shit, I have barrels of cocaine delivered to my doorstep every month but I cant find accutane. What is this world coming to?
