Alternative cancer treatments

sigmund

New member
Hi All,

I’ve recently been researching alternative cancer treatments as a friend of mine has been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer (metastasis to the bone from breast) and is not expected to survive long after Christmas. I thought I’d post up what I’ve found so far as it may be of benefit to others… I realise some, perhaps most, of the therapies listed below are not thought of too highly by many within the medical community but there are some interesting ideas and I’m keen to remain open minded. If you know of any additional research / alternative treatments, please post - thanks

I browsed a couple of the links you got there, i dont know how valid all those products are. Personaly I have worked with many breast cancer patients (mostly stages I and II) and have helped them with alternative treatments. Anything that says it will "cure cancer" is BS. The only thing you can do is strengthen the immune system and let the body try to heal itself. In the person your talking about, who has METS in the bone, the best thing wold be to make her as comfortable as possible. If anything, try high doses of antioxidants (A, C, E, zinc, and selenium) Coq10, green tea extract, and something called cordyceps. cprdyceps has been shown to help those going through chemo. Good luck

agreed

i think that anything that will help with palliation is great, and anything that is supposed to be a cure should work alongside other treatments. complementary therapies are meant to be just tha, used alonside more conventional ones

Im sorry for your loss...I hope hemakes it till Xmas and the new year and I hope you guys can alleviate any pain he feels. good luck :)

If you want to go hardcore:

http://www.hsibaltimore.com/

Also try to find any books written by Hulda Clark.

The single best book on detoxifying I ever read was by Sherry Rogers, M.D., and is also only available on Amazon, here's the link for that:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/18...3893/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-1731373-2734341?ie=UTF8

I would strongly recommend testing for systemic candida and treating if that test is positive.

Macrobiotics have a reputation, say what you will about a vegetarian diet ... I was impressed by the book by Anthony J. Sattilaro, M.D., "Recalled by Life," who claimed to have cured his inoperable/hopeless cancer through following a macrobiotic lifestyle (Amazon has the book, here's the link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/038065573X/104-1731373-2734341?v=glance&n=283155 ) While this book does not clearly explain the macrobiotic lifestyle it's an interesting read. There are many books on macrobiotics.

Frankly, my opinion is you have to go full bore alternative, you just can't mix and match conventional and alternative effectively because they are basically diametrically opposed in philosophies.

Megavitamins have their place, but the first thing is to completely clean the lifestyle up and thoroughly detox, a healthy (ideally, mostly organic) diet, low stress lifestyle, comprehensive nutritional and dietary support with a strong emphasis on neutraceuticals, EFAs, and some herbals versus individual vitamins. You want to shoot for a wholistic balance.

If that fails, there's always morphine to fall back on, but the burden the conventional medicine creates makes it impossible to combine conventional therapy with alternative therapy.

Treatment will depend on the type of cancer, whether it has spread or not , and the size and location of the main (primary) tumour. Treatment of bone cancers is complex and involves a team of different specialists usually within an institution that is experienced in treating these types of cancers. There are 3 main types of therapy used to treat bone cancers;

surgery (to take out the tumour in an operation)
radiotherapy (using high-dose x-rays to kill cancer cells)
chemotherapy (using drugs to kill cancer cells)

Surgery is often used to remove the primary tumour. For tumours of the arms and legs an amputation of the limb is sometimes necessary, however, limb-sparing surgery may be possible in many cases where only the cancerous part of the bone is removed and it is replaced by a bone graft or metal prosthesis. Radiotherapy may be given as well as or instead of surgery to destroy the cancer cells. Also, chemotherapy (drugs) may also be given to kill malignant cells that may be circulating around the body.
