Alright! How the hell do you people do it!

Due to a scheduling change and wanting to spend more time with my son, I am joining the ranks of A.M. workout crowd.

Aside from the normally "chipper" morning person, what motivates you all to haul buns to the gym so flippin' early.....I am having a rough time of it this A.M.
 
I hear it takes a week or so for your body to get used to the am lifting.

I'm not an am lifter at all, can't do it... cardio isn't so bad in the morning though, you barely now your doing it when your eyes aren't open.
 
i am an AM lifter... the only thing is that i go to the office after lunch and return late evening, eat and sleep. so i only wake up by around 9 anyway :) makes things alot easier.

but yea, if you start work at 9, then the best thing would be to ensure that you sleep early enough so that when it's time to wake up, you feel fresh enough to get going with a pre workout meal.
 
Once you get used to it, it's great. You'll have more energy throughout the day. I work out in the morning because if I work out at night I can't sleep for hours afterward - it really gets me going.
 
What gets me motivated to work out at 7:30 AM is the fact that the only other alternative is to fight 45 minutes of traffic after work to get to the gym (since I'd have to take the local roads and not the highway), then add 30 minutes to my workout due to the greater number of people in the gym at that time using all the equipment I'd have to wait for, THEN taking another 30 min to get home.

The prospect of 5 minutes to and from in the morning and a virtual monopoly on all of the equipment is not one I want to pass up.
 
The body gets locked into patterns, natural rhythms, and if you work out at the same time every day, rumor has it that your body adjusts and gets used to putting forth effort at that time of day.

I just got into the office from the gym and I do feel pretty damn FINE!

Only thing was, I had to do cardio first....I walked into the free-weight area of my gym and just stared at the weight racks with a stupid look on my face.

So I found a cute little co-ed (girl), to do some cardio behind, and waddaya know.......I woke right the heck up!

Not sure if it was the trex, treadmill, or 20 year old booty shakin' in front of me but it worked.

All in all, I like it and think i'll get used to it pretty quick.

it's just a pure habit for me. morn, noon, night. i know i have to get in at least 3 times a week. some days it's gonna be mornings. and when i do, the rest of my day is pure pussy. nothing is gonna be tougher than the workout i just had.

Hear ya loud-n-clear mon frare!

I just have to start trusting myself that early....

Meaning, apparently I suffer from the "morning stares" quite a bit, because I had to alter my W/O very slightly to avoid heavy things bashing my face and head in because I wasn't paying attention.

Plus I didn't want to look stoopid in front of cute booty girl....J/K, it'll come the more I get into it......................................The trust, not the booty.

But then again, the booty is more than welcome to come too.
 
i've tried to do it sometimes but i need to be at work by 7am..so that means i have to pretty much get up at like 4:45 to eat and have some coffee....lift eat again shower and then commute to work (about 40 minutes)]

430 is fuggin early man...
