Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

To all you doctors out there... I take ALA all year round now because I love what it does for me. I take about 750 mgs a day. Can this cause problems in the long run if I take it all year round.

perhaps over the long term at high dosages it might cause hypoglycemia.. otherwise???? it does seem to require higher water intake.. it may be hard on the kidneys, esepcially in conjunction with a high protein diet (but this is just surmise)

What's a good brand of ALA? I just returned from the sup warehouse and the only thing they had was EAS. Sixty capsules for 12.99 usd, 200 mg Calcium from calcium carbonate, and 100 mg ALA per capsule. Is this o.k.?

there are lots of guys on the anabolic board who take ala up to 1000mgs everyday for years and they haven't had any problems. those same guys get blood work done also so they know for sure.
