when i start feeling this way, i find that a strong, intense, killer workout helps to get the endorphins flowing and i feel much better after.

A lot of it is related to your success at a young age. You do not provide a comfort zone for most people to slide into. (Which is good, except that you are alone a lot).
People cannot think like you do or take themselves where you go and have gone. As such you are alone.
I know how you feel. And going out and meeting people doesn;t really help, for the aforementioned reasons.
