back day today. started out deadlifting. i was looking to hit 315. i had already done this a few weeks ago, but i think i pulled a muscle doing it, so im not counting that as a record. however, today after

135 warmup for 10
225 for 5
275 for 4
295 for 3

i pulled 315 twice! perfect form too. i was really proud of myself. i was even brave enough to try for the 335. that shit was glued to the floor though. haha. oh well. i guess 315 is my new PR now. some dude even came up to me and was talking to me about deads, and how hed like to try them. i was like, dude, theyre the best. hope he gets into them.

Congrats....but be careful trying to go for your 1-3 RM, especially if you have hurt yourself before. If you find this bothers you shoot for a record 5 RM.

Again congrats.

Great job man!!!!

A suggestion though...do more warm ups in the rep range of 1-3 with 135-185 and do singles only from 225 on up.

will do ... but why only singles? ive heard this before on the board, but never learned why. haha.

I rarely ever do more than singles on deads. I just don't see the point and when you do more than one rep...they are never the same. You can only keep form one rep at a time anyway.

The reason for doing only singles with the deadlift is there is no eccentric portion of the lift. It is laying there on the floor and you pick it up. Nothing more to it. Reps is bad mojo.
