I've always been a pretty hairy beast but after a few cycles i'm right where i want to be physique-wise. Currently 5'10" 192 lbs and between 8-10% bodyfat. The problem is im covered with dark coarse hair all the way up my arms, shoulders stomach, chest etc. I usually just cut it really short with the clippers which doesn't look bad but now I've decided I want that silky smooth ripped look, at least on my arms.

So 3 days ago I broke out the old gillette sensor and went to work. It looked great for a day but now i've got these bumps all over the creases of my arms and on my forearms.

My question is, is this normal when you shave for the first time? Does it get better? Is there any quick way to get rid of these bumps cause now I dont even want to wear a short sleeve shirt, must less take my shirt off and i'm leaving in two weeks for panama city beach, Fla. Any imput would be appreciated cause I like the smooth look but not if I have to look like i've got speckled arms.

I am going to the river boat riding tomarrow so mabye the sun will scorch them to where they're not noticible.

Thanks in advance,
slingblade

Shaving is useless IMHO. The only decent solution is waxing. If your hair is coarse then be warned - it's gonna HURT!

Another solution is to bleach the hair on your legs and arms with a body hair bleach (available at most department stores). I am quite fair already but do this to hide the hair even more. I am quite hairy but don't look hairy with white blond body hair. I shave my chest and stomach daily, but if the hair there doesn't bother you then bleach it too.

I assume you are European. If not blond hair may look strange on you, but it's something to consider.

The lumps on you are probably in-grown hairs. Shaving is not good because it will make you feel like sand paper unless you do it daily which is very time consuming.

Body hair is a great curse if it's not the way you want it. Hair seems to be one of those final bastions of beauty where options are limited.

Good luck!

Seems like with all the modern technology and everyone being so cosmetically conscious these days that someone would just invent a creme or even a pill that would actually take care of this and be affordable. Probably not in my lifetime though.

It's probably because it's not a disease. If it was a disease then something with nasty side-effects (like most medical cures) would be developed. Because it's a purely cosmetic issue then only a totally safe OTC type of solution would be ethically viable. This limits what can be developed I suppose.

dude, don't worry about the body hair!!!

there are PLENTY of peeps out there, espically on the beach scene, that drool over hairy guys. at 192 and 8% body fat you'll get all the attention you want. just trim it down some and shape it to show off your hard work.

Thanks for the kind words. I've just gotten tired of all the " dam you're a hairy mofo comments. Of course they all come from people who aren't in half as good of shape as me. I just thought i'd give shaving a try. I may give it one more try just to see if mabye my skin will get used to it. If not it's definately back to the clippers.

BTw I have also tried waxing with nads. That was the most painful waste of time and money i've ever encountered. Hurt like hell and looked like a plucked chicken.

I agree with rnch. You know, subconsciously many girls are attracted to body hair because it correlates to high testosterone levels. Regardless, I know many girls who like a decent amt of body hair so just trim it down and show off your cuts.

the bumps

sounds like irritation, razor burn? You can use a product called "Tend Skin." They carry it at beauty supply places and salons. I got this kind of rash/bumps when I used Nads on my back. I think when I first started shaving my arms I had this prob and the skin just has to get used to it.

dude, the bumps should go away after you keeep shaving. I have slight, fine normal body hair where I just have to use clippers once a week. Goodluck it does make you look a lot more ripped without the hair covering the serrations. Later
