I would have been really screwed. But also I didn't expect to have such a great hobby at this age as internet surfing is.

I don't know man... Sure there is lots of time wasted and porn etc, but there is also lots of valuable information and chance to see others perspectives from other places, etc... Everything in moderation I guess...

(I am almost 30, but the net wasn't really around when I was in HS, and barely started to use it in college (a TINY bit of email only) I only really started using it after college...)

Anyway, to answer the ?, my head probably would have exploded.....and I never would have gotten homework done.....BUT I also wouldn't have had to drive down to UofD and spend $$$ for parking & the whole darn day researching via the card catalog....

Im 30 in Nov. and the internet wasnt around when I was a teenager. I definetely would have been fucked but I guess it doesnt matter because I was a fuckup and now I wont graduate until Im 31 so it doesnt change anything.

in high school, we could get high school chicks so there was no need for the Internet

The internet was just coming into it's own the last year or two of my college career. We had to use "terminals" with green monitors and telnet into the internet. There wasn't a browser or any kind of windows interface, more like an interactive DOS prompt. MUD's were really the only form of online gaming then.

BUT, even THEN, porn was readily available. I got my first digital naked pics of Cindy Crawford right about the time we were taught how to use the terminals. We used to have competitions to see who could get the best girl pics in the computer labs. You had to FTP to servers to find them, and you couldn't look at the pics until you downloaded them (which took some time), adn even then they were usually crappy quality compared to what is online today.

Nothing like it is today. Kids don't realize how easy they have it with the net (and porn in general).

I'm glad I didn't have it. I enjoyed getting out and playing baseball, football, or just riding my bike. It would have been good to have for school, but I was an outdoor kid.
