Yes it was Floyd, and yes they have recently made it back onto the hot 200. How is that for talent.

I love all kinds of music.

There are definitely rap artists/groups with longetivity... Dr. Dre (in the rap game since 1982), Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Ice T, etc. are all still involved in the rap game and have been since the early to mid 80's.

There is good music across all genres. Rap is my overall favorite, but I've got tons of songs ranging from Rap to Rock to Techno to Classical. Look for jewels and you'll find em.

Kid Rock's album hasn't been at #3 the whole time, no, but it has been in the top 100 for 65 weeks in a row... that's what I was saying... The fact that he's a "real G" that's been through all the shit he's been through doesn't impress me because I know guys who've been through tons more shit than him and it doesn't make them talented musicians... His hooks and beats sound nice from what I've heard, but again, those are put together by a tech on a machine, and while it sounds good in some cases,it still doesn't make for great music. A talented lyricist, maybe, but not a musician... I feel the same about Em... talented lyricist, yes, but certianly not a musician...

Flashman, you need to realize that times change. I'm not a huge hip hop fan myself, so i understand your point of view about eminem and other rappers not being a good "musician." But the fact of the matter is, rap is a form of music, and they are skilled at it. Therefore, in the true sense of the word, they are good "musicians." You can be a good musician without playing an instrument nowadays. Times have changed. Being a good lyricist is a way of being a good musician. Now are they as talented as other musicians, by no means. But they still are musicians
