It was a decent flick and a pretty accurate refelection of the career of Muhammed Ali, the greatest boxer who ever lived.
I don't think they should have chosen a comedian, Will Smith, to play the role. Smith did a creditable job but the role transition suspended belief for me. I look forward to the reprisal of Men in Black this coming summer. A role that Smith is eminently suited for.
Smith really needed to be bulkier to play Ali. No way he could bench 400 as the marketers proclaimed. Stallone made a far more convincing boxer in my opinion.
Ali came across as honest and emotionally strong with questionable judgement. Guess you can't have everything. I'll bet he banged a lot of babes in his day despite the multiple marriages.
The best part of the movie was the about the greatest fight ever, the Rumble in the Jungle, in Zaire, Africa.
See it if you are a boxing fan. Skip it if not.
