Alert!!! Opened Emails at ZIPLIP.COM

lawnsaver

I just got back from vacation. I went to check my email and I had 4 opened. They were all either from EF members or source updates. The bottom line is that they were all gear related.
Who the hell could have hacked into my account??

Could it be the feds or something?? I'm not a source, just a regular guy who is very interested in the subject of gear.

Has this happed to anyone else???

that sucks bro, sorry, dont know who would do that, if you log on a comp and dont delete your temporary internet files, you can easily access other accounts without a password,

if you have any more questions pm me!

Lawnsaver, I seriously doubt that you are dealing with law enforcement. I'd most likely attribute this to

a: a glitch in ZipLip's server-side software that accidentally marked your messages as 'read'

b: someone has your password which could have possibly been found using a keylogger or perhaps investigation of temporary internet files / cookies

I can sincerely understand why you are worried, but you need to narrow this down... does anyone else use your computer? Do you really trust them? Have you scanned for virii/trojans lately? Do you have broadband access?

I cannot stress enough that even home users NEED AV Software and Firewall software if you are on an "always on" connection. If you play the game, you need to protect yourself. There ARE losers out there that have nothing better to do than scan scan scan all day just looking for access to personal PCs... hackers aren't just limited to the enterprise arena any longer.

If you need some help or other advice, feel free to get in touch:

Thnaks Blaster.

I dont think it was a glitch. They were all about the same thing...Gear!

I will try to think of anyone who could have done this.

No prob bro! I would agree that the opened emails being of the same topic seems a little fishy. I would really focus on those who use your pc locally; however, if you do have cable/dsl or the like, you may want to check a few things out such as firewall/AV software!

Let us know how it works out!

Hushmail, ziplip, aol, are not secure e-mail accounts. I know some people who know how to hack into other peoples accounts. Shit just search the internet and it will give you steps how to do it. there's a lot of people out there with to much time on there hands. That's why it's inportant to get a somewhat secure account like EF
