Alchohol and Creatine

I know if you drink too much caffeine while taking creatine it can hinder the absorption of creatine. Although I am not a heavy boozer...does anyone know if Alchohol does the same thing??? Because I do it every time...I'll go out and have 4 or 5 beers....panic..... and then load up on creatine the next week and put myself right in the middle of a shit fit.....
 
I would like to know the same thing because I drink pretty heavily 4-7 drinks usually twice per week.........hopefully its not too bad. But i'm sure our livers dont appreciate it much. :mix:
 
I've always though, and noticed, that drinking just counteracts the point of taking creatine, which is supposed to fill your muscle tissue with water, but alcohol dehydrates the shit out of you. basically, don't drink when on creatine.
 
I drink just about as hard as you can every weekend, 10+ drinks a night, and the only thing I noticed when I'm taking creatine is worse hangovers. I think it's because creatine adds to the dehydration from alcohol.
 
I remember reading an old MM from EAS and bill phillips was talking about doing creatine with 4 oz of wine. (and some other stuff) for a photo shoot or somthing like that. So, to it point, it must help............but I don't remember why or what the wine did?
but basicly, I don't drink if I'm taking creatine. I mean, who is going to just drink 4 oz.

First of all since when is 4 drinks drinking heavilly?

And dont worry guys there should be no reason to worry if you rehydrate yourself. If all it took to negate the effects of creatine was mild dehydration what would you do in the summer whenyou sweat? Or after a good run? Or a dip in a hot tub? Or sauna? etc.
 
he probably took the wine cuz alcohol makes you look vascular, some take a shot or two before a shoot, and the creatine to suck some water into the muscles and make them look bigger. . .?
 
Creatine bloats me like a motherfucker. I don't really drink but did go on vacation when I was creatine loaded and was hangover proof. I think all the water I was holding made me less susceptible to dehydration.
 
it doesnt have to be complicated.....its as simple as this--creatine is supposed to put water wieght in muscle tissue....if you drink, esp a considerable amount you will dehydrate your whole body, and i think, negating a week of taking creatine
