ALA (or r-ALA) + fat

Just curious what'd happen if I ingested a meal containing of 50g carbs AND 50g fat (and sum protein), and popped 600mg of ALA 15 mins prior?

Asking cuz that's exactly what I did about an hour ago (cheat day, no lectures please) and started reading up on what slin does with fat, which is not so good...

What does ALA do with the fat?

insulin levels affect storage of lipids (indirectly).. with effects on various hormones, enzymes, prostaglandins and lipases. R-ala SHOULD decrease fatty deposition of both lipids and glycogen by decreasing insulin levels.. but there will be a point of convergence where the glucose and lipids outweigh the effects..(there will be depostion though still less than without) this will of course vary and be dependent on a HOST of factors...

but the basic answer to your question is .. yes it will help with the deposition rate of the lipids from that meal.. but that is a lot of fat.. but then again only a "single" incident...

more importantly in the long run, even with "occasionally gluttony".. which r-ala will "mediate"... the lowered blood insulin environment will be much more "lipolytic"..
