ALA and alcohol

tonight before the trenton thunder baseball game at the bar in katmandu i had a beer..two days ago i started takin ALA at 400mg/day..after 10 minutes and halfway through a bottle of miller lite i broke out in an drenching sweat(all my clothing was soaked). possibly ALA causing a hypersensivity to alcohol use..has anyone else noticed any similar reaction or a reaction out of the ordinary when taking an ALA product like glucorell etc and alcohol use..

No. ALA is pretty expensive for me, so I cycle it's use. I don't drink at all when I've used it in the past. Interesting though...

Don’t drink or take any street drugs, if you’re on a cycle, simply is counter productive.

Plus I would not drink, smoke or take street drugs, at anytime when training. It is one of the dumber things that can be imagined.

well i woke up this morning and i feel like someone put my organs in a blender..this should not be from a half of one beer...i will no longer use alcohol while taking any supplements,,i should know better..all last night i was trying to rationale in my head what happens at the molecular level with ALA when you mix it with alcohol...i might have to mix some together and run CG, IRspec, MassSpec..lol.jk...my liver...

Very odd. I use r-ala daily and drink on and off and nuthing like that hasn't ever happened.

I've drank while on Glucorel and also experienced nothing like that.

the product was just 100mg ALA ..i am starting to feel well again...that was an experience i will want to avoid in the future.

Katmandu is the spot. I have never had a problem with the ALA thing though.

thats wierd dude, ala is acutally a good thing to take when drinking, i take 600mg-1200mg when I drink and feel great the next day. ala is a very good anti-oxidant and will help control the blood sugar spike of alcohol, since it is really a sugar. (and all the crap you eat when drunk

Glucorell is RLA not ALA. RLA need to be supplemented with Biotin - maybe ALA does also?

But to answer your question, no - I have never had an expirence like you described.
