not only can the reverend al sing...but he has some damn fine arrangements backing him up. not just a guitar and drum banging away....but some awesome strings, jazz organ, drummer always RIGHT there on the back beat but never over the top. TRY to listen (if you can ignore his outstanding, heartfelt vocals) to the instruments and the chord and tempo changes in his hits.

his vocals on "love and happiness" brings tears to my eyes...the jazz organ hook grabs you and the background rhythm has me slapping the chair in synch with it.

his take on "let's stay together" damn near got me to propose to the gal i was with.


if the rev al and bb king ever do a duet together.....wow!
