To think in 50 or 100 years when the chinese finally develop hovercraft propulsion jetpacks that fit 10 to a row underneath airplanes, that kick-in once the airplane loses all power, and then slowly lowers it to the ground -- airplane crashes will be a thing of the past. Kinda like how certain military jet fighters/helicopters land on battleships.

Too bad so many people will continue dying until then.

no radio traffic though...maybe they got hit by lighting and lost cabin pressure causing everyone to pass out from no air.
hence maybe they weren't coherent when they plummeted.

I read that flying through those types of storms could have batted the plane around like a toy. They don't think it was the lightning that did it, rather damage to different parts of the plane due to the violent degree of the storm itself.
