What does it mean if I have a bottle of clomid, and all the white material seems to be caked to the glass? Is there anyway to get the solution to dissolve back into the solvent?

Caked stuff in your clomid is Clomid ;) probably crystalized. Just heat it up in warm/hot water (don't boil). It should all dissolve.

the only issue with crystalization is that you run the risk of disassociation of the the citrate.

though putting in hot water should get it back into solution
yea wouldn't heating it up or putting it in water just make the crytallized clomid mix back in with the alc. and then the dose and everything is still correct, nothing lost in the process right?

hard to say its decently stable , definitely more stable than tamoxifen. would guess that you are going to see at least some deterioration and isomerization. Though whether it would be significant???

had not actually looked at this issue until this evening and still looking at it. Though now know why tamox always comes in opaque blister packs.

Nothing is lost after you heat it. It usually goes back into solution and stays that way. I've done it a lot of times without any problems.

so after you did this you ran a mass spec test?

If there was a loss it would be very difficult to determine through use, unless it was extreme. Clomid is fairly stable, though crystallization and re-introduction into solution is going to have some impact. Not to mention heat and other factors.

in truth even if you had a significant loss 25% or more, you would probably not notice (most people way over dose clomid, often failing to take into account its half life)

so agree that from the users perspective they are unlikely to notice a difference (even if the loss was significant- though as noted there is no evidence that it would be) though it is quite likely that there will be some loss

Obviously I didn't run a mass spec test, but you know very well the product is fine when it crystalizes. There is absolutely no problem with crystalization.

I've ran tabs before, and I've ran liquids. Once in a while I've had clomid crystalize, a little heating fixed it without an issue. I've noticed absolutely no difference in dosages or effects.

the process of crystallization, heat and re-introduction to solution is going to cause some degradation. That was the query by dbbt "nothing lost in the process", not will there be a noticeable difference.

agree that there probably (most likely) wont be a noticeable difference, now if it were over heated (exposed to temps over 104 degrees) then yes the difference might be noticeable- though it would probably have to be for an extended period of time.

do as suggested, do not microwave it.

I agree. Just sit it in a warm bowl of water and shake... that should take care of it. :chomp:
