i learned that arnold is a dick! lou ferrigno lacked self confidence and that 31 year old dude looked high on nubian. all in all it was a good flick.
the bodies of 1975 are WAY better looking than todays pro's hands down. there bodies looked of quality and not overblown with muscle. arnold on the other hand looked etched from stone. i see why he is and will always be the GREATEST bb of all time.(btw im not a fan of arnold)

I totaly agree that those guys looked the best. I'm so curious about what they did exactly. Training, diet, drugs etc... All body builders today are obviously doing something wrong. No one seems to have that quality look.

Definatley a great movie. But can you blame arnold for being cocky.

Arnold is numero uno!

Arnold had to be cocky it was his shot at starring in a huge movie and he took advantage of it and the movie was huge.

Arnold had to be cocky to psyche out his opponents like Lou, Franco and it helped Arnold edge his competition

Arnold

Arnold appeared to be cocky, but he was really just beginning to learn how to act. He simply played the part of a young cocky bodybuilder destined for greatness! Arnold's so much smarter than all those other bodybuilders and he knew it and used it as an advantage to prosper. Yeah, he had an awesome body but the real power was in his mind. He really knew what he was doing.

My take on the bodys of the 70's......they're what we should all be striving to achieve. I'd rather look like one of those guys than any of the pros today. The problem with the pros of today is drug related, not training, not diet, simply too high of doses of anabolics and all those other chemicals that they ingest. Too much! It's too bad that the most freakiest and unnatural looks are needed to compete at that level today.

Arnold is a genius, if it wasnt for him it is a safe bet we woulndt be here on a board like this now. I thought on the film he came across as a very likeable man. I especially enjoyed the part when he confessess to teaching that german guy the screaming routine!!!

I agree ,i think its the high doses of A/S that are changing the looks of bodybuilders, i remember myself years ago only doing low doses of 250 mgs Test & 200 Deca and when i would take my big bagy shirt off and had that extra small waist and wide shoulders and very thick chest , huge back & arms even the bigger guys would say whoa, now i'm bigger but on the edge of the power lifter look and dont like it.

Arnold was not a dick, he had pure CONFIDENCE, and he knew that he had to have that instilled in his mind in order to acheive his goals. He didn't let anything interfer with them. Shit the guy didn't even go to his Dad's funeral...why- cause he knew it would fuck with his mind. He was very strong minded...and I think you confused that for cockyness. Lou is a little bitch in that movie, and his dad has him on a leash. Btw, not many people can acheive the level of confidence that Arnold posessed. I respect the hell out of him for that. The guy has acomplished just about everything he has ever wanted, and deserves to be looked up as a true role model. Don't disrespect the man.

Fuck I still have yet to see it!!! I think I'm the only person who hasn't seen it. :bawling:

Pure get that tape back you ass and let me borrow it! NOW!!!! :kaioken:

FYI - Arnold lied about his father and Lou really was not close to his father - his father just jumped into the movie.

Yup.

Arnold's dad died in January which was 10 months before the Olympia. Arnold just made that up for the film based on a story based on a boxer he heard about. The story does further Arnold as strong and commited to be the best bodybuilder.

did you get this video from me? Man, Arnold was/is the man. He beat all of his opponents physically and mentally. Lou didn't stand a chance, he already lost before he even started.

Agreed.

Much of that movie was pure theater. The scene where they're studying ballet: Staged.
Lou's relationship with his dad: Staged. All the training and psyching out of opponents: Staged. Arnolds cockiness: Staged. They wanted an angle on how to present him and he figured the 'king of the hill" schtick would work. Besides, Arnold wanted attention at all costs. Ya think it worked?

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I'll repeat it. The dosages that most of the members of this board use dwarf what the guys in the 60's and 70's used. (Yet who looks as good as Arnold, or Sergio, or Draper, or Zane, or Scott, or Nubret?) Arnold was propably more over the edge than most guys at the time and he supposedly used 600mgs of Primo a week and 50mgs of Dbol a day . I've seen guys recommending twice that much to people asking about a first time cycle.

I don't know what some of you guys are talking about, there is no such thing as ever being TOO big. The bigger and stronger the better. Arnold was great for his time, but he can't hold a candle to Ronnie, Dorian or Lee. And Arnold admits that himself.

I agree with your second paragraph but how the hell do you know about all that shit you stated in your first paragraph?

Hum I bet you're quite young. So bigger is better: even the waist and the guts?

Mind Blowing

I am simply amazed by Arnold Look. The bodies of 70's truly define bodybuilding. Today's Body Builders are simply freaks. They aren't very pleasant to look at. They hardly represent healthy bodies. That Bigger is better attitude is just terrible.
