After much consideration to relocation

Frisky

~QUEEN BITCH~
Platinum
and job searches, I decided to take the plunge. NOT easy for me because I like stability but there is no growth where I am now. Was a great experience her for the 6-1/2years, I've learned a hell of a lot.

I have three interviews set up for the next few weeks. One is with Smoothy King designing layouts of new francises.

I have had a few other interviews, but nothing was what I really wanted. Hopefully these will be a hit!

To me this could be the best move ever. You are being held back where you are currently and you know it. They will realize once you are gone how much of an asset you WERE! Of course, at that time, it will be too late! Good luck hun. You know you have all my support! :rose:

Though MOST of these people have been GREAT to me, I've endured some hard times becuase I am a woman in a mans dominating field. I've expanded to doing more than I was taken on to do and have been swamped and taken advantage of over and over. Ended up having a controling Engineer, boss...

I honestly can't complain about the company itself, more of my superior.

same here.

Frisky, go for it girl. Where abouts are you looking to relocate to? Is beau coming with? Have you discussed with your children yet? Their father?

You know I did this myself a little over a year ago. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

It is about 130 miles from my current Job Location. No disucssion with kids or X yet, going to set up the interview first and also take a look at two other offers and then go from there.

I sure will PM you as I get more info. Thanks suga :rose:

He will come with me! He's been wanting to relocate.

Kick ass Friskers, you needed this in a big way. I really understand about liking the stability but you need to find a better environment that will allow you to excel and not just survive.

Cheers,
Scotsman

The job market is booming here and I'd have the coolest chick in the world to go out and party with. ;)

I meant Los Angeles, L. A., Not Louisiana

Actually I have lived all over the country, maybe 20 different states and have traveled the country and the world extensively, for business.

And I love living in L. A. Los Angeles, more than San Francisco or San Diego.

Actually south of L. A. about 65 miles,

are you a blonde?? j/j

Frisky lives in Louisiana now. Not LA! ;)

i'm not sure, but i think just saw feisty make a joke about someone else's intelligence.

consider my mind blown, 5 dollah style.

I know... but I'm demanding one today!

Thanks all... I am sure this will be a long process, I refuse to just jump on the first offer esp having to relocate. I will have to spend some time there and check out schools, subdivisions, etc. I will not on effect my life but my kids life also. This is a huge leap for me!

K to all of you...

As soon as I get another few minutes ;)

i got a bit excited when you said something about jumping on an offer.

the one you sent me? ;)

Great News! Was able to put in one more phone interview before mommy mode had to kick in and supper to be cooked... And it went amazing. I emailed over a portfolio this morning per his request ;) He seems really interested in getting me there to discuss salary and benifits. This job will also have me relocating in that same area.

I have a few more to call today on my lunch break.

I'm giddy and nervous all at the same time. I've been with this company so long that I will feel like a kid on the first day of school!

Congrats! I can't tell you how much relocation, new challenges, new surroundings inspire great things. (Well most of the time...) I've moved across the country 4x now and am orchestrating the next big move (probably in a year or two) because where I am now is so played its not even funny. I've got a new job location so I plan on using this new area to inspire some new activities, etc. but for the most part, not thrilled w/ the area at all.... You've already demonstrated mastery of your position. When the company itself no longer allows you to challenge yourself (not be a slapping boy for your boss) then its time to move on. They can't keep up w/ ya girl!

Thanks Sassy :rose:

I believe this is my calling right now. I've put in my time here, and feel I'm just a little to comfortable in my position and don't want to be stuck in that rut... ya know? There is more out there for me, If not a job then I may consider going back to school. I'm a go go go person, and get bored easy when I'm not challenged.

:hugs:

Not sure just yet, but it won't be this year. Maybe a year or two from now.

Congrats and Good luck.

Will you need to learn a new language? That's the hardest part.

Yay! I have to set something up to try to get out there either Friday or early next week! He said they are very eager to meet me! I am surprised beings I made a salary demand and wasn't even sure they would consider it.

Have you ever considered interior design?

:)

The job for Smoothie King was for interior design work. Problem is they want an entry level position and the pay just won't cut it. It has alot of potential, and a slight pay cut wouldn't be all that bad but this pay cut wouldn't be little.

I Have a few more people to contact, I believe 2 of them are in the interior design field. I would love interior design, that was my main focus when I started drafting and design work.

New phone convo, with another company! I have hopefully two interviews on Friday, The one in Houston will bay close to 15k more a year than my current earnings!
