Advice...

I've been having a tough time lately being satisfied ANY in the gym. It seems like nothing is ever good enough...and on my days off, I feel guilty as hell because I haven't worked out. I've been working out 4 and 5 days straight w/o a day off. Does anyone have any advice, or any similar experiences that can help me draw a conclusion as to what may be happening? Or what i should do???

Are you "on" anything? Has anything else changed in your life? Have your workouts changed?

Well, i'm actually taking clomid now at 50 mgs per day...so, i was on. My workouts have actually been more intense, for some reason, I just feel as though nothing is good. I'm doing 5 exercises for bodyparts although I know that this may not be good....it's just something that my mind is kicking my ass to do.

I read about something like this in Men's Fitness (please no wisecracks) about fitness obsessions. As much as we're all obsessed to some degree here if you realize yourself that you may be doing too much, just try to take a step back, and focus on a set routine on a certain number of days per week.

I agree. I also think you should take a real hard look at your form and technique. Are you rushing through workouts or focusing and feeling every rep with correct form. Do a little research on what the proper form should be for some exercises and go through a few hard workouts with that in mind and see how you feel. Also how's your diet? This is a complete lifestyle, as I'm sure you know, which also involves both off and on day dieting as well as proper rest and relaxation. If those are in order, even your off days should be full and satisfying. hth

Some of this may be due to the clomid. Clomid makes me feel generally miserable and "unsatisfied" with everything. This could also just be a result of "coming off". It's called post-cycle depression. Good luck.

Hey Caesar_wv,

Sounds like you are seeing way to much into this bodybuilding shit. Take it easy and train hard and enjoy what you are doing.....

I am 38 years old and have been around this sport since I was 8. I used to watch my older brothers workout with there buddies. I myself train 5-6 days a week depending on what my body is telling me. If after 2 days in the gym my body is telling me to take a day off and then I do so.

I have come to realize a long time ago that if you make it work it will be work and therefor you will get burned.

Learn all you can about fitness and nutrition, but always remember to keep a balance between to much or to little.

Good Luck

You are probably over trained.
Take at least a full week off and then come back with less vloume and fewer days in the gym but train very hard.

yeah,
my thoughts exactly. Currently i'm taking two weeks off from the gym (post-competition) and it's hella hard. One thing's for sure, i CAN NOT wait to get back in the gym (slowly of course)!!
