Advice re frequency of training

I'm in the process of prepping a routine but i was just wondering is it better to train 3 x times a week for 30-45 mins or twice a week for 1 hour.

I would maybe prefer 3 sessions a week as it would make me feel more involved, if that makes sense. However, time is also an issue as well so i just don't know.

Thanks

for me, 3 would be better for the reason you gave. but if time only allows for 2 then your stuck at 2... i do not think it would really change anything in the long term, do what you can.

I think it won't make too much difference really, although I'd opt for 3 rather than 2 probably. With 3 sessions, you can improve learning, if you're doing the same movements 3x/wk. rather than 2x/wk.

There is no "right" answer though really. What you do BESIDES weight training. Are you involved in other athletics? Is strength training your main goal? Also, it depends on what you plan on doing during your training sessions. If you're planning on doing a crapload of hardwork, you may find 3 is too much. Or, depending on your recovery ability, 3 may be just fine.

There's no "right" answer.

I'm not sure you understand "frequency" as it's used here. Just saying that you're training "X times per week" doesn't actually say much without information on what sort of workouts you're doing. In other words, three full-body workouts per week is different from a setup where those three workouts are "legs day", "biceps/back day" and "tris/chest/shoulders day".

Hi mate,

I haven't trained for a while and aspects of my body are weaker than others. I am wanting to get stronger, build muscle mass as well as look lean.

I'm thinking of employing the services of a PT so that's why i'm asking re session frequency.

However, I'm also looking to lose bodyfat so may employ a lot of cardio in between.
