Advice on Swollen Thigh

As long as the injection site is not red and hot you should be fine. Also, if you have a fever it's an infection. Quad injections cause some soreness and swelling in people and it is somewhat unexplainable. If it continues to get bigger, you may need to see someone about it.

The area is red and a little warm and I haven't been feeling so great (no fever though). It certainly does sound like an infection doesn't it. I'm still on anti-biotics from the staph infection. Maybe I will wait until I'm done with those then head in tho the dr.s

I attached a picture of it. The red line is where I injected.

Thanks

It doesnt look like an infection to me, more like an inflamation. This is very common for some of us as a reaction to some gear and especially BA. The swelling and red area will be there for a while, somewhere between one to two weeks. Try to massage the area very light and shower in warm and cold water. You can also use some ibuprofen or ketotifen gel on the area as anti-inflamation. I often get this when injecting into an area for the first time in a while, my arms are right now swollen, red and warm but I do not worry. As long as you do not get a high feever you will be ok.

I wouldnt worry too much yet. Keep an eye on your body temperature so as to keep an eye out for a fever. That red circle you describe sounds like its just a bruise at the injection site. Youre taking the anitbiotic, but many times its not going to reach a concentration great enough to get rid of the infection. A really bad infection will require either an injection or IV drip of antibiotics. It doesnt look too red yet, I would bet it will get better within a few days. If it gets a lot worse or you get a fever, go see a doctor right away and dont fool around.
Not sure what you can do about explaining it to the doctor. I would probably come up with some kind of story, since youre military who knows what they might do if the discover you have been using. I am also thinking that the doctor has to keep your records private, so maybe it wont be a problem? For civilians the records are kept private unless you release them. Ask around and see what you find out about that.
