I have a hard time believing the husband is ignorant of his wife's blatant activities. She could have been trying to light a fire under him or some other dangerous emotion.

My boyfriend and his wife have been married for 20 years, have 3 kids, are very commited to each other.
He can have boyfriends, she has her girlfriends.
They are comfortable enough in their commitement to each other that an outside fling doesn't rock their boat. She knows he's running around with me, I send them Champagne for Christmas, she occasionally sends me homemade cookies.

I agree you did the right thing, not committing what you view as adultry, simply because if it's Your moral code, then You should abide by it.
But not everyone shares your narrow Puritan view on sex.

You know it's amazing how many married ho's there are... I remember this one time where a friend of mine (in college) met this bitch in the courthouse (where you find the ho's) - I was contesting a reckless driving charge.. Anyway, I talked her into coming to my apartment and helped convince her to take turns blowing us - damn she was talented!

This double standard leaves me clueless. It's so prevalent around here. Guys are EXPECTED to be dogs, bang as many chicks as possible, it's a sign "You're the Man! Baby!". But if a woman does the same thing, she's a ho and a bitch. I just don't get it.

Adultery is adultery even if the partners agree to screw others outside of their relationship. Here's a quote from the dictionary just in case you dont believe me....

Nothing like taking things to extremes and calling somebody Puritan because they feel morally obligated not to violate the sanctity of marriage, betray a fellow human (the hubby), even though at least one party in the marriage (the wife) doesn't care -- or get entangled in the sticky web of deceit that goes along with affairs.

Maybe the couple has kids and he's thinking of the damage that this type of discovery could do to them. Yeah, I guess he's puritan because he's being nonselfish about satisfying his own needs versus potential repurcussions of an unknown situation. Reread Platehead Jim's friend's experience -- he had a knife held to him and the girl involved got her arms broke. Dballer knows a guy that put a 12-gauge to a guy's head and squeezed the trigger because of adultery. Guess he's narrow-minded about wanting to avoid this type of problem.

Yes, it could be an open marriage. But there is absolutely no evidence to support this notion. And there won't be until the hubby comes up with the wife and says it's OK for him to bang her. In that situation, I guess it'd be OK. But calling him Puritan is completely uncalled for and shows your "narrow" views as you put it.

There's no double standard; nobody is commending Jim for screwing married women.

And the objections aren't whether guys should be able to bang a bunch of chicks vs. chicks being able to bang a bunch of guys. The objection is whether or not it's ok for somebody to bang a married person.

Yep - I'm not even commending myself as I've really had enough adventure for my life - I'm 31 and have settled down enough not to take the chances I did in the past - One thing to remember, fucking around with another guy's wife OR girlfriend is dangerous!

I've been shot at a couple times, my car was gassed and lit on fire, I had death threats,etc.. Besides, 8 out of 10 married women that cheat are usually nuts and are a shit load of trouble.

Stick with the single girls - the price is lower in the long run.
