I am thinking of adding a Sports Nutritionist certification to my CPT. Is this cert worth anything/credible to gym employers? I am looking at some of the cheaper certifications:
IFAfitness.com has a "Certified Sports Nutritionist (S.N.)" for $99
AMFPT has the same cert for $69
AFTAcertification.com has a "Nutrition Advisor" cert for $99
Any thoughts of which of the above is most credible? From what I can tell, the knowledge required for this cert is very basic nutrition basics that any CPT already knows (IFA's cert actually simply requires studying the "Nutrition" portion of their regular CPT study materials, meaning if you are a CPT through them, you already know everything to get the SN cert, so the main question is whether paying for such a separate cert has any real-world value).
I was thinking that a "S.N." sounds more prestigious than "nutrition advisor" which sounds like a support role rather than an authoritative title, so I was leaning towards that, unless gyms consider AFTA is a more credible organization for certs. Any thoughts?
