adderall or ritalin

Just wondering if anyone has info on which of these two drugs has less side effects. I am being treated for adhd, ocd and depressiion(prozac), possible bipolar2( depakote)klonopin for anxiety.. I know I am fucked in the head but I do still have the will to live a normal and productive life. Any info would be great. My weight training has gone downhill since being so depressed, but I am starting to get better with the help of a new doctor. Does anyone take anything similiar to this? And how is your training going? Thanks, Jason

How old are you? There is no need to take ritalin or adderall for adhd if you are past puberty. Those drugs are usually given to children with adhd 'cause prior to the onset of puberty CNS stimulants have an opposite effect in children, i.e. CNS stimulants calm children down and speed adults up. Why do you want to add more drugs to your system anyways? Just drink a lot of coffee before training and you'll get the boost you are looking for. BTW they are both equal in side effects.

do you have add?

I don't think you do. Because you have no idea what it's like to struggle with add. They don't give it to adults? Where did you come up with this idea? you are wrong with your statement, I am sorry to say. As for coffee it will just make my other syptoms worst.

dude, adderall alone will make you feel on top of the world, its practically coke, and some compare its effects to excstasy, combining adderall and a anti anxiety wow, never tried that,, isnt that like a speed ball or something?

why would my doc prescribe these

I am not looking to get high here. I am looking to be able to focus, maintain my mood(i get very depressed), ocd, which kept me afraid to leave my home for 2 months. Why would my doc give me these if I don't need them?

im suprized at alot of these responses on elitefit.. but

addrall is practically the same as ritalin, tho adrall has to be taken less frequent because it is let into the system on a steady basis..the pill coating.. so dont break it up.. or it will be no different then ritalin.

hope it helps.. and things work out for you.. goodluck

I guess some people don't understand that medication used properly can help someone to live a better life. How would you feel if you where so depressed repeating the same action over and over again and having no control of your life. Barely made it through college and then become overwhelmed by life. Hospitilized and had no money to eat or pay the rent. Almost losing everything that you loved about your life. Would you say that adderall is only for children. I think that statement is the most idiotic think I have ever heard. I take my meds the right way and I still want to lift. Although probaly not with juice again( except maybe anavar if my doctor approves).

read some of my old posts

See the state of mind I was in a few months ago. And know i am totally stable and beginning to put my life back together. Doctors and therapy really do help.

My gf, who is 20 y/o by the way was on ritalin and now on adderal xr (extended release). Ive taken both. they both have the same effct but the adderal lasts longer.I strongly believe i have add and as soon as my medical coverage goes through im goin to the doc for a script as i have all teh symptoms

you can't take prozac and adderall together. read the customer info on adderallxr.com: "do not take if currently taking MAIO's or SSRI's"

adderall is 4 amphetamines actually.

Bro, I'm not trying to talk you out of taking what you're prescribed. But if you ask your doctor I'm pretty sure that he didn't prescribe the ritalin for your ADHD. Some doctors give it to potentiate the effects of anti-depressants it gives you kind of a euphoric feeling. Make sure that your doctor is a psychiatrist and not just a family doctor, he may not know this. I never stated that it wasn't prescribed to adults, I stated that it has a different effect in adults. I've often seen it prescribed to people with depression, it works for some.
