Acne

I use 2000mg a day now, but I started off at something like 5000mg for 5 days, 3000mg for 5 days and now 2000mg ed. Thats how I was told to do it and its worked for me.

Doxy is super effective, it's used at 100mg 2x daily. It works fast too.

New studies show it to be effective @ 20 mg 2x daily, and at this low dose it doesn't kill off your bodies own digestive enzymes.

The 20 mg tabs are way more expensive than the 100mg generics.

I get the 100's and cut them up into 4 parts. Yeah, its not super accurate, but we're talking 'perfect' skin even post cycle, as opposed to me looking like a leper. I friggin love the stuff. I have seen studies showing this low dose approach being safe for long term. I'll prob go a month on, a month off. Other never stop using it.

Make sure you eat before taking it!!!

If you are open to new ideas, Colloidal Silver is touted as a topical anti-biotic. I would suggest that as well. Hope I helped. Karma me.

I've used doxycycline and it worked allright. It depends how bad your acne is and what type of pimples you get. I get big blood filled ones and nothing seems to help it 100 %. I go tannin and use Erthromycin solution, which is a prescribed topical antibiotic and it works pretty good. I'll get one on my face or neck every now and then, but my back is where I've got the problem. I'm going to try some B-5 one of these days. My back is fuckin ate up right now. I've been off for 2 weeks and its getting pretty terrible.

I prefer vitamin B5 Pantotenic Acid..

Article..!!!
-------------------
How does vitamin B5 work?
The working theory of B5’s anti-acne effect is that acne vulgaris (“vulgaris” from the Latin word for “common”) is really a symptom of a B5 deficiency in the body. Normally, B5 is used in the body to create and regulate hormones, process lipids (fats), etc. But when the body’s B5 pool is depleted, B5 (as coenzyme-A) is allocated according to the body’s own survival priorities. In other words, hormones and neural function are given as much available B5 as possible, with the process of fat metabolism receiving whatever B5 is left over from the more important processes.

How does this relate to acne? Well, when they’re not burned for fuel or stored for future use, extra fats are excreted, among other methods, through the skin as a fat-rich oil called “sebum”. The skin normally has a certain amount of oil released through the sebaceous glands as a means of lubrication. But when there are excess lipids to be eliminated, they are excreted through the sebaceous glands as extra sebum. Thus one experiences “oily” skin.

The skin naturally has a number of blocked pores at any given time, either because of dirt, unshed skin cells or solidified sebum, but the normal output of oil is so low that there is little appreciable build-up of oil behind the blockages. In the case of excess sebum secretion, blocked pores quickly become flooded with sebum, creating a buildup that not only causes a noticeable bump or “comedone”, but also an environment where bacteria may flourish, sometimes causing the pore and surrounding skin to become infected.

How do I take it?
Take anywhere from 3-10 grams a day. Some people do a loading phase, some not.

It is highly recommended to take your doses of B5 divided up evenly over the day. For example, if you were taking 6 grams of B5 per day, you would do well to take six 1-gram doses, spaced out as evenly as possible. The reason for spacing out your doses is that the body can only make use of so much B5 (or any nutrient) at a time.

Trying to take the 6 grams of B5 all at once would really only result in a waste of the excess that the body can’t absorb, and it wouldn’t allow much coverage for your body’s B5 needs throughout the rest of the day. The ideal might be to take as many small doses throughout the day as possible, but it isn’t always practical to take doses on every hour or half-hour. Every two or three hours appears to work best for most people.

I recently broke out real bad on my back and shoulders after my last cycle and I've been using a Clearasil gel wash with salicylic acid (I call it an acid bath). I'll suds it up on my shoulders and back and leave it for several minutes. It's got a cooling sensation. It's taken a few months of 2xday use but my bacne is finally clearing up. It was so bad for a while that I would pop a zit while training and it would stain my shirt during the workout. Nasty!

Has anyone used Doxycycline to treat acne, would it be too weak just like the other ***cyclines, or would this b e stronger than them but weaker than Accutane, I am looking for an alternative.

WHAT IS IT?
Doxycycline is the generic name (meaning it is not a brand name) for a medication that has been in the news since October of 2001 because it is used to treat anthrax, a type of biological infection. Anthrax is a very dangerous type of bacteria. Doxycycline is a type of drug that fights off many types of infections by slowing the growth of bacteria. Because it can stop the production of bacteria, doxycycline is used to treat acne.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Doxycycline works by stopping the production of protein that the bacteria needs to survive. Without being able to produce the protein, the bacteria cannot perform essential functions such as growth and repair. This causes them to eventually stop growing and die. In treating acne, Doxycycline is thought to slow the production of the bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes. This bacteria is believed to be important in the formation of acne. Doxycycline may also work to treat acne by controlling inflammatory reactions in the body. Although different people respond to medications at different rates, acne should respond to Doxycycline by 6 weeks. The normal time frame for acne to respond to doxycycline is 3 to 6 weeks. In some patients, acne may get worse before it gets better.

WHAT TYPE OF DRUG IS DOXYCYCLINE?
Doxycycline is a type of drug known as a tetracycline antibacterial. Antibacterial means that the drug fights bacteria. The word "tetracycline" refers to the chemical structure of the drug. That is, drugs that are in the tetracycline class have four 6-membered rings that make up their basic structure. This makes sense when you consider that the word "tetra" in Latin means "four," and the word "cycline" comes from the Greek word, "kyklos," meaning "circle." Put the two words together and you get "four circles (rings)." Some tetracyclines occur naturally, whereas others are part natural and part man-made. Doxyclyine is part natural and part man-made, which is why it is called a semisynthetic (part man-made) tetracycline. Specifically, doxycycline is made by changing the chemical makeup of a naturally occurring tetracycline known as oxytetracycline.

ive heard Bacrtrim works well for acne.

It's oral and very toxic

It is toxic if you don't take the proper precautions.

But you can minimize accutane's side-effects by taking the proper precautions and not taking large doses.

Prescription-style dosaging ranges anywhere from 80-120mgs/day

This gives you EXTREME dry skin. I see no reason to ever go that high if you just get acne from cycles.

20-40mg/day at MOST, will pretty much stop any cycle derrived acne in its tracks.

This is obviously only for people that get some acne from heavy androgens liek Trenbolone and the like.

I took Doxycycline for about 7 years when I was younger (middle school through about the first year of college). I had moderate acne, not ridiculous... but moderate... and hated it, killed my self esteem when I was a little guy. So when to dermatologist and got prescribed topical, and then the pills... and it worked great. I can't say whether it will work or not with the Huge Testosterone level increases that AAS provide (although through adolesents T levels increase and therefore acne, so who knows?). But will let you know eventually when I decide to turn to the dark side.

Oh, with using Doxycycline it has to be used for a certain period of time before taking effect (i don't remember exactly, i guess 2 - 4 weeks). *just found the old script bottle with some still in it* They are 100mg Doxycycline Hyclate Tab taken 2 daily.
