Acne Treatment

I went to the dermatologist today to see if I could get on accutane for the moderate acne on my shoulders (ever since I tried Fina).

He wanted to pursue a less aggressive treatment regimine first and then go to accutane if that fails (little does he know I go on cycle next Monday).

Here's what he prescribed:

Minocycline twice daily
Prednisone once weekly
Desquam E gel (benzoyl Peroxide) in the AM
Differin Gel in the PM


Does this stand any chance of controlling acne on cycle? If not I guess I'll be getting my accutane in 4 weeks.

Don't know if I'd us the prednisone. It's actually a catabolic steroid

I use to have acne back in the day. I used minocycline and differin gel and it worked wonders.

It should work unless you have a tolerance built to antibiotics.

I'm supposed to take the prednisone daily for 1 week to jump start the other meds. I've been debating whether or not to use it but how bad can it be for just one week?

you should be fine with just one week of the prednisone.

Everyone responds differently to different treatments.

For me, I use two different body washes (I also get acne on my shoulders)

I use a salcilic acid bodywash and a benzyleperoxide wash.

Sometimes I also use the salcilic acid pads before bed on problem areas.

That an tanning helps me. Also wearing sleeveless shirts when I sweat (gym, running) seems to help too.

prednisone can cause acne actually if used for too long. Its not gonna do shit for acne accept mayb help inflamation but only while our taking the meds and its catabolic so its not a good idea on cycle. All the other shit may help mild acne but I take basically all that shit like minocycline, differen, and I still get acne and thats without gear. Two good things to use on cycle are 10g's of vitamin B5 panothenic acid a day as well as synthetic guggulsterones 180mg a day. This will be the closet thing you can find to accutane. It won't cure acne like accutane can but it will help to minimize it on cycle. You could also take the other shit as well like minocycline at the same time.

accutane rocks .... some had success with mega doses of vit A too (very similar to accutane) accutane is a derivtitve of vit A..

I thin kall those are prescribed meds, but you should be able to order these over the internet from over seas pharmacies.

10% benzoyl peroxide (equivalent to Desquam gel) is available over the counter. The rest are prescription meds.

But as Fbodyguy said, you can get them from overseas via an internet pharmacy.

salcilic acid body wash is OTC
Benzoyl peroxide is also OTC

Get some cleaners, pads, soaps, gels, etc with those ingrediants. Use one at night, one in the morning.

Prednisone is BAD on the body bro...rethink that one especially just for acne...if you any sugar issues in the LEAST dont take Prednisone, you'll end up in the hospital with blood sugar over 300, I've seen it happen....

You want to know something that works on acne and is available without a prescription? TCA. It's an acid peel that can be bought off eBay in various concentrations. Diluted it will work a lot like Retin-A. In high concentrations it will deliver a medical grade peel, and I don't mean some kind of cucumber Avon peel, I mean a peel that will require the person using it to not go outdoors for a few days as in a chemical face lift.

I use it at 10-12% sometimes and it will dry the skin out to the point of maybe mild flakiness if moisturizer isn't used.

There is a website, benzoylperoxide10.com that sells 10% benzoyl peroxide in bulk very cheap.

That's mostly stuff for the face, the other guys could probably tell you more about Accutane and other stuff.
