Tanning does NOT help acne. It makes it worse.
(now bare with me .......)
It will help to sort of "cover up" some acne, because the skin is darker, and the inflammation around acne lesions or cysts or breakouts tend to make teh skin more red .... and if the skin is darker .... you will "see" them less.
BUT, tanning will promote more acne.
I like what you said in your previous post, but I think your comments about tanning are misleading.
Tanning DOES helps acne because it helps dry up your skin. This is the reason you want to tan. Not because your skin becomes darker. In your arugment that tanning promotes acne, you fail to mention why it promotes more acne. You only mention that it conseals acne. Of course once you have drier skin, you body will try to over compensate for dryness and produce more oil. That's why you apply some Cetaphil (water based moisturizer) and woala!!!
Ask any dermatologist and they will tell you to tan up.
Ask DrTodd and DrJMR which are doctors and members of elite.
What I've found that really helps my acne is washing with neutrogena anti-bacteria soap. After 10 minutes of washing my face is completely dried out. Then apply Cetaphil Moisturizer and ance be gone!
