i got some bad acne on my back and my chest but doc said i am not good canidate for accutane. anyone else have the same problem? can you tell me what else i can take? i am currently on doxycycline which isnt doing a thing for me
Vitamin B5 as 50cop stated can help. It's also called pantothenic acid. I take 1g in the morning and 1g at night (time release formulation from vitamin world).
That is the minimum dosage that does anything for me. You may need to go higher to keep your back clear but you will see a difference in a couple days.
Dreading the sides of the good old accutane, i've been prescribed a host of alternative medications for acne. Finally i found one that really works for me-- dynacin at 50mg a day. That may be something to look into. Good luck.

How severe is it bro? I cant remember what bro on here made a recommendation of adding oxyclear or some sort of acne stuff into your bodywash...that might help

Forget Doxycycline. It doesn't do shit. Switch to Minocycline. It's in the same family as Doxy but is stronger and more effective. You have to stay on it for months at a time but it sure did wonders for my back and chest. I take 100mgs twice a day.
Chances are your doc will go that route for you any way when he sees that the Doxy didn't do shit for you. Night and day difference between the two drugs though Bro!
