Acid reflex when on cycle?

Excidium28

New member
I noticed that when Im on cycle I get acid reflex? I chew tums like its candy lol. Any one else in the same boat?

no need for tums...any basic solution or dairy product can help

It depends on your diet. I'm always bulking and ALWAYS have acid reflux when cycling. I up my diet alot (especially when cycling) which means my body has to produce more acid to digest all the extra food. I too eat tums like crazy. Prevacid works quite well too. Dairy helps alot but its only a temporary fix, it'll come back. You're not alone! Brothers in acid reflux!

never had it happen before, except for now that I am taking IGF-1

Used to get it all the time while on. Went to doc he gave me Prilosec perscription. 30 caps ($10.00) take one capsule every morning and no more acid reflux.

It's funny that you posted this now. I'm currently on a test/tren cycle (probably my 8th cycle overall and not my first tren cycle) and I've got horrible acid reflux for the first time ever.

I've been hitting the maalox daily.

I took prilosec too and it worked well.

Milk can work unless you are getting basic reflux. More than likely it is from eating more than usual for extended periods of time.

Apple cider vinegar works wonders as well. 1 tablespoon or 2 does the trick. You might want to get a hold of some digestive enzymes also and take them with at least a couple meals per day.

Just an all natural approach if you don't want to go the Prilosec or Zantac route.

Hmmm. Interesting. Now that you mention it, I have been having some gut rot trouble lately. I have chronic acid reflux. I've tried changing my diet, sleeping habits, etc, but nothing helped. Except for Prilosec. Now that I'm on a cycle, I notice that the Prilosec is not as effective. I had caustic tuna burps yesterday that cleared the gym.

i have had it before on cycle
i find that tren and oral aas are the causes for me
i was eating tums every day my last tren cycle as soon as i stopped it went away
i have a friend who swore to me that tren gave him bad acid reflux

Actually Omega is right. You won't have any reflux on a low carb diet. So the "carb curfew" at 6pm is a reasonable way to go.

thankyou it is my hope people read my short answers and reslize its coming from direct experiment

also have food that are slightly Basic ( versus Acidic) will also help

Also sometime excess aromatization ( if AI management is poor ) can also cause issues as there is a association with Estrogen and Bile( stomach acid)

F'ing genius Omega! Now that you mention it...my acid reflux was definantly much worse when my estrogen was higher.

Somebody mind suggesting a good digestive enzyme I can get locally? For a high cal, carb, protein, 5k cal diet.

ITS DIET RELATED

biggest tip is drop carbs after 6 pm

carb cutoffs are a great idea. 6pm or 7pm is good. The only exception is PWO to replenish glycogen (if your w/o is that late).

Also, since you're bullking, eat a yogurt once a day (for the good bacteria).

Other good tips you should ALWAYS follow:

Take psyllium husk (2 tblsp. in juice in the morning) to help keep your digestive tract clean (reduce mucus buildup).

Take a probiotic like Jarro-Dophilus (again for your intestines).

Eat your veggies and fruits. By taking the psyllium husk (basically fiber), you won't need to get the recommended 4 serv. fruit + 4 serv. veggies. But do eat some fruits and veggies - DON'T rely just on the psyllium husk to cover it.

Meals and eating order (some other cool things I've learned):

Make sure your meals are Protein/Carb or Protein/Fat. Don't combine fats and carbs (at least not much - I know some can't be helped).

Eat in this order: protein first, then veggies, then carbs.

Several reasons for this. Fill up on protein first and you make sure you're eating enough (very important for growth). Your body burns roughly 6 times the amount of calories to digest the same amount of protein as fats or carbs. Digestion of carbs and fats only elevate metabolic rate about 5-25%, and that lasts for only 2-5 hours. Digesting protein speeds up metabolic rate about 30-70%, and that effect lasts for 10-12 hours. You just created your own thermogenic fat burner without spending money on the supps.

By eating protein first in a meal, you increase efficiency of digestion, which means more overall protein/aminos in your blood stream.

Eating this way will improve your digestion, and your body will be able to use more of that protein you're trying so hard to shove down your throat.

Carbohydrates are digested 30% in the mouth when you chew by the salivary enzyme amylase. Then carbs go to the stomach where their digestion STOPS and they slowly pass into the small intestines where pancreatic enzymes complete the digestion process.

Fats slow digestion a bit. So if you eat fats first or mix them with carbs, you clog up. You will however still get pretty good digestion with Protein/Fat meals. Just eat your protein first! :)

Proteins are primarily digested in the stomach. Eating proteins after fats/carbs means reduced amount of protein digestion. This protein stays undigested, and moves as a mass into the small intestines. Yuck! Congratulations! That protein was not absorbed and is lost forever.

Why we don't mix fats/carbs is simple and should be easy to understand (but I'll tell it anyway). Eating carbs = raising insulin levels. Insulin is like a bus, shuttling nutrients around to be stored by the body. Raise insulin with carbs then eat fat and you're now storing fat. Now you've increased adipose tissue and not only is that not the look you're going for, but you've just increased your potential health risks.

Whew, that took forever. OK. A bit long and I went WAY beyond answering your question (by the way - you can quickly remedy reflux with OTC Prilosec - generic is cheaper). But, if you follow these suggestions, I can 99% guarantee you will not have any more problems with your reflux or other digestive issues.

This is more important than you may realize. I had a friend die of colon cancer who was only about 38 when he was diagnosed and they had to remove his entire colon. Don't be that guy!

Dairy products like milk do not work. If so it is only for a few seconds. it is an old wives tale. Try some prilosec OTC.

it is increasing because you are eating a shit load of food and the food is most likley more acidic than you normally eat.

bump for the most useful fuckin post all year...bitches.

My nigga! It's been quite awhile since I've learned so much without having to do any research :). I'm saving that post on my HD and will definantly be implimenting into my diet. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all that out as it really clears up some of my digestive issues. Thats what this forum is all about and you've always been a great help to me. Again, I thank you for blessing me with thy overwhelming poop-tract knowledge :).

LOL @ "poop-tract knowledge"!!! I'm glad you got something out of that.

I'm confident this will help you (and anyone else). I used to suffer horribly from reflux. I was taking Prilosec and that helped, but if I missed a day or two...look out!

Since I changed a few things about and in my diet, I no longer need prilosec or anything. Once you get a week or two into consistently implementing these things every day you will realize how much better you feel for doing it. It is a real eye opener.

Agreed!!! I never realized that it does making fucking sense.

It does. And what's worse, is that we're traditionally setup to fail!

Go out to eat and what do they bring you first? BREAD! Then you get salad or soup! Most salads (lettuce) have very little to no nutritional value (just set the raw veggies aside (if there are any with your salad) and skip the lettuce). Soup is more carbs and water.

So, we get carbs, then either more carbs, or cellulose (worthless lettuce), then usually our protein comes out with more carbs (potato/pasta/rice) and hopefully a few veggies.

At least they offer dessert last (more carbs and some FAT). If you've just eaten a bunch of carbs (potato/rice/etc.) better skip a high fat dessert.

But I'm sure all of us just skip dessert altogether...right?

Get bromelain. Take quercetin with it. You can find them together in one supp. Bromelain is the enzyme found in pineapple that aids in protein digestion (has many other health benefits too).

You can also take HCL tabs with a high protein meal to help break down and digest protein (never done this, but I've seen others recommend it).

Bromelain is a MUST for a high protein diet.
