ive always been prone to face acne but now its terrible...i have access to some accutane in 10mg caps. whats the best way for this stuff to be taken? how much per day do you all use? ive also heard that you need to take it for a while to see anything clear up. comments?

I used 80 mgs/day. You can start off with 40 and see how it works. You need to be on it for at least 3 months.

I have heard people going up to 100/mg a day but since accutane is such a dangerous drug with sides (really f's up your liver) I would start slow

I would highly suggest tryng tanning a couple times a week first if it is not cystic acne.

bro start at 40 and see how your progress stay on for about 3 months...and see how it works...Tylers liver detox can probably help a little bit for you...dont throw on a whoppin 150mg because u wanan get rid of it..youll get rid of your self instead:|

Not to mention (side affects) accutane will yellow your teeth like a smoker at high doses and for prolong usage, and its perment.

For god sakes man if you're going to use Accutane do it under doctor's supervision it's like doing a cycle.. so why not get the help and get you're liver monitored (like your supposed too) by a professional..

I agree with the cautionary approach...I've always had acne and when I cycle the back gets real bad...so much so I can't sleep cuz of the cysts, but I still won't use accutane cuz it's so nasty. Trying low dose anti-biotics and is helping alot.

reason is because im not on insurance right now because im 23 and just got out of school and the job i currently have takes 6 months to get insurance so im trying to avoid the doc as much as possible. i got prescription face cream today and it cost me $143 as opposed to $5 when i was under my moms insurance. the face cream helps but dries my face out real bad and then the acne comes back so im kinda in a corner. only thing i heard that works like a charm is accutane.

accutane is not always as bad as everyone is making it out to be. you really dont know until you start how you will react, just like with any other drug. i agree that if you have never done it before to go through a doc. just wait it out with your insurance and do it right just in case. in the long run, a few more months wait is worth doing it right.

I've been on accutane twice. The first time, my nose bled so much it was rediculous and I had to stop. The second time, I went all the way through it, and after a few months it worked like a miracle. Its the only thing that ever worked for me, with acne.

Now a few years later, I want to get on it again, because I'm getting acne from hard lifting even though I've never been on gear. I'm getting insurance soon, and will hope it covers it, because that stuff is extremely expensive to do it without insurance (like 200$ every blister pack).

thtas what im sayin. my acne is so bad it had me afraid to go out in public sometimes. im almost willing to risk death to take away the acne that has me looking like a leper.

Then go ahead and do it. just be aware of the sides that are possible, such as depression. you can get blood work on your own too for very cheap if you are concerned with your liver. you dont' have to be an MD to read lipid values and see if anything is wrong. (PM me if you want the website for cheap blood work)
