Accuracy of couting calories?

How accurate do you have to be when counting calories? Do you have to be real accuarte to yield good results?

You obviously want to get it close so you know where you stand, but i wouldnt obsess about it, get it all down, figure it out and just plan on what ever numbers you come up with as being the true figure - and use one of the programs on the internet or a software package that will track it for you

i will do it for a week if i find myself really cheating - it is also good if you are under eating which i sometimes tend to do...
