about Lock outs - questions

I can`t bench press yet as I have been training around some injuries and have been relying on dumb bells and machines.

I have found that my triceps have become a weak link and need to train them with a heavier weight which makes me think of weighted dips and CGBP. But I am not able to do these movements safely yet and have therefore been giving thought to lock outs.

I have found the safest way to do anything close to a lock out is by using the Smith Machine on an incline. This feels solid and safe though I am not sure if there will be any real benefit to my triceps or if my shoulders will get burnt in the process.

I haven`t tried anything heavy yet and I would like some educated opinions first.

your on the right track but ditch the smith machine. use the power ract........ set the saftey pins where you want them and then set the bench in the power rack and press from there

if you can get some 2x6's would be better. take 3-4 them and put them together.
