Abcsess?

I did my last shot on Friday and it was bad luck. I did everything right. I don't know what caused it but Saturday my leg was hurting and by early Sunday morning it was hard and red. I went to the doctor and they gave me a shot of antibiotics and some pills, I have a follow up appointment tomorrow. What can I expect, this sucks. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually post-injection, the site can be sore, red or even mildly hard. You waited a day then went to the doctor?
 
Yes, I shot on Friday and waited till Sunday, it got real hard and the redness was the size of a softball. So I figured I better go to the Doc, better safe then sorry.
 
Mate, make sure you rub the site hard after you jab, that sometimes helps. Also, vary where your puttin in, dont do the same site too often.
 
i agree better safe than sorry, but that shit happens to me all the time. i got paranoid the first time, got ahold of some antibiotics, but the shit cleared up in a couple of days. i dont know if the antibiotics had anything to do with it. how much did you inject? how often do you inject in this particular site?
 
Yea, I make sure I rub the site for a few minutes afterward. I just don't understand, I rubbed with alcohol, made sure everything was clean and I still ended up getting infected.

Read what I said above, injection sites can have the symptoms you describe. Although you are correct about being safe, it does sound like you jumped the gun.
 
It is actually worse today then yesterday, its swollen and the size of the redness is bigger. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow.
 
dude, as long as you are doing things clean, alcohol the inject site, always use new sterile needles, alcohol the vial stopper, you should be good to go. your chances of an infection are not totally eliminated but are reduced to the minute. but i have to agree with mr.x, i believe you jumped the gun. but thats just me. hope it all turns out good for you.

T400, and I'm assuming you didn't bake it. Yeah, you probably had an infection. Don't use T400 that stuff is dirty junk!
 
Yeah mate, make sure you use new needles and barrels, i always give my hands a good wash before aswell. But saying that, i got a huge lump on my right arse cheek about 9 months ago, it itched and was painful, i left it for a few days, it went down, then i gave myself another shot, but when i pulled back to make sure i hadnt hit a vein, instead of air i got a brown load of puss shit, it was sick. But dont let that worry you. Let me know what the doc says. Chin up!!!

I freaked out once and didn't give it enough time and headed into the ER. I pulled the B12 excuse on them but I knew they were just like WTF. Anyways, turns out I just hit a vein and there was a lot of blood under the skin, making it look really fucked up way more than it was. Doc told me to get out of the 1980s and stop shooting B12 and that nobody does that shit anymore. As long as you use proper technique and are clean, rest assured that lump or whatever is making you think twice will more than likely disappear on its own.
 
Thanks bros. I use a new needle every time and follow strict procedures when I'm injecting. I just got unlucky this time. I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to have to have it drained, it is starting to get a domed shape. Hopefully when I see the doc tomorrow he'll drain it for me.

i always wonder how come know ever says they wipe the stoper with alcohol after they draw it out? Its my rule of thumb..Also watch out for small peices of rubber stopper in vial too. I seen that in mine before so i never use that last drop at the bottom kind of like i dont drink a bottom of a beer either. :worried: Hope all works out for yea!

Very good points. I have been using 8-10 alcohol whipes every time and I wipe the top of the vial after withdrawig fluid and once again before I wrap it up and put it away.

I do drink the bottom of a beer though - :chomp:
 
Leg is killing me now. How long before the antibiotics take to kick in. The redness was about 4" wide now it is about 8". What do you guys think?
 
It may not be an infection and it simply will hurt for a good week. However if its an abscess/infection a few days should do it. I agree with MR.X that you probibaly jumped the gun. Who knows. If your not sure what it was you made the right decision.
 
T400 will do that bro trust me I know, you know I hate that sh*t but if that is the way you want to go dont let me pull you away from it.... For some reason that stuff will do that to almost every one, the only way you can some what live with it is by shooting it in your uper outer glute and even that sucks bro........

I go to the doc for a follow up in about two hours. I'll follow up when I get back. Oh by the way it feels better since I went home yesterday and elevated it. In the center of the redness it is turning black and blue now.

Bro's I had to have surgery on my leg Tuesday night and had to stay the night in the hospital. They said it was an abscess and there was a blood clot. I'm with gear since I had to tell my wife. She is totally against anything that is illegal. I explained to her the benefits but she just couldn't get past the legal part of it and I promised her I wouldn't do it again. I have another baby on the way so I'm going back to all natural. I have a 2" x 4" x 1" hole in my leg and the doc say's it will be months before it is completely healed. Thanks for all your guy's help on this board and I'll still be on here looking for training and diet info and helpiong with anything I can.

Yeah, I know it just sucks. I worked so hard for the 10 weeks I was on and then I'm not sure when i can go back to the gym with my leg the way it is.

What was with the clot? How long did you wait after shot to go to doc?
 
Doc didn't tell me about the clot, I have a follow up in couple weeks and I'll ask then. I waited two day's then went to the doc.
 
What exactly happened? How did you get a clot...from the abscess?
