just wondering what all of you do for ab training, ive tried variations of nelsons and omegas plans and i had some sucess, but i have kinda stalled out. i do sit ups crunchs, laying leg raises.

i have jsut started to do abs every day. one day of no weights high reps. then the next day weights with lower reps. but still above 12

Train your abs like any other muscle.

you wouldn't bench press everyday would you?

Abs aren't a different type of muscle. it's human muscle, and needs resistance training, food and rest to grow.

+1.
While it is true that diffrent muscles are sometimes comprised of difftent ratios of fast and slow twitch fibers, muscle is still muscle. Doing curls every single day wouldn't give your bicepts time to recover and rebuild.

Bottom line-- it's all in the body fat.

Your abs are primarily fast twitch. Working then for more than about 15 reps, or 40 sec. time under tension is a waste of time. You have to add resistance (weight) as was said. Or you can reduce stability. That's why they're always using those exercise balls, you now have to stabilize the load. You can also use cables, roman chair, decline bench, vacuums, etc.- something to stress the muscle without using too much weight, esp. if you're going for the classic bodybuilder look.

i dont do anything special just 100 sit-ups/crunches when i wake up and 100 before i go to bed.

use a 10 lb weight plate next time, and do a set of 20 reps of incline situps. do 4 sets of that and you will get better results, increasing weight as you go. You got good abs, but you are a tiny guy, without an ounce of fat on you. Most teenagers can get great abs in a matter of weeks. If you want big thick deep cut abs, you gotta do resistance training.

i used to think that way too. but since i started doing a little bit of ab work a day i have noticed great improvement is size, density.

Have you lost weight? Abs seem denser and thicker the leaner you are. I'm at 12% BF right now and my abs show through only when I flex. They seem non existent, but I know they are there. If I lose the fat, they'll seem to grow huge all of the suden, when in fact they didn't grow much at all.
