Ab question

So I have a friend who is unable to do a situp. She isn't obese or overly fat, just for some reason has no strength in her abs.

So I was wondering, what would be the best way to build her the strength to do a situp. I have heard that abs heal and regenerate faster then the bodies other muscle groups. And low reps is what builds strength so I was thinking of something like:

Either:
Throw-yourself-up-situps 15(sets)x2(reps). Getting to a head to knee position utilizing your arms, as little as possible tho, to get to the top.

Or going as high as possible without arms, 15x2 again.

Any ideas as how to change the workout/numbers?

Does she do knee raises?

have her do some lying leg exercises... in-and-outs, leg raises, bicycles... those dont require much ab work from upper abs (which are crunches)...that will strengthen her lower abs, and for the upper... if she can do hanging leg raises that would help...side bends... really stuff thats not a crunch, until she can do a crunch...

but get her to stretch, and hold her stretches... (yoga works well) stretching and holding the abs... also some basic balancing act will help, along with proper light squats...

there are a plethora of exercises...
