AAS users that are Personal Trainers

Well, this question isn't specifically about AAS, but the other forums suck and I never get good responses, so im going to post here since this is the place I get sound advice from alot of knowledgeable bros.

I am wanting to get my certification in Personal Training. I dont know alot about the different types of certifications, and was wondering if anyone here is a personal trainer and/or if you know what the "better" certifications are. right now im looking into ACSM and ISSA, and I have also heard that ACE is popular. Just wondering what everyone suggests.

ace sucks

nasm, acsm, ncsa.

They're all worthless. Your success will largely be based on your personality and how capable you are of convincing potential clients that you will be able to help them achieve their fitness goals. The only people impressed by certifications are the people that don't realize many of them can be obtained by anyone with a 6th grade reading level after two 8 hr seminars or less. I've seen guys with Masters Degrees in exercise physiology that can't even perform a bench press properly. However, being able to put a few letters after your name as a disclaimer that you know wtf you are doing can't hurt. Why not just claim to have an ACE or ??? Nobodys gonna check up on you-and if they do fuck em-they'd be a pain in the ass client fersure.

The best certification I know of is the BC certification aka Big Cracker Certification. For $20 I'll make you a certificate on photoshop stating you are BC certified. You can claim it is the best certification that a pt can acquire. Why? Because BC says so!!! Other certifications are based on the same shit-Who says ACE is the best??? ACE does!!! ETC. They just try to make themselves seem like they're providing you with a degree from MIT or something so you'll piss away your cash on something you don't need.

Issa wasn't the greatest but it got me certified and able to work as a personal trainer in a gym and to start my own buisness. I don't work in that field any more( am a substance abuse counselor now). Using one of those will get your feet in the door, but if you want to look better on resume, certain Colleges offer programs for certification as well. Look in your local area for Colleges that offer the program. Hope the best for you.

VERY TRUE, i am an excerise science major, and 99% of people in my physiology, kinesiology, bio, and chem classes are all HUGE pussies.

Bro, seriously this is as retarded as going to bartender school to become a bartender. If you can't get your foot in the door as a bar back to learn the ropes-you suck.

Or have you ever seen the ad "Karate instructors wanted...No experience necessary"??? Would you pay a guy for lessons that went through this program to get his black belt??? lol People pay certified personal trainers that are often at lower levels of fitness than the clients themselves. What's up w/ that??

Grab a clipboard, a pen, and have biz cards printed up with your name and #. Voila-you are a trainer with the certification of your choosing!!! No need to go through the fancy shmancy certification bullshit-just claim to have one. IMNSHO even buying into the whole certification thing shows that you are just as naive as the people paying you to train them.

I wouldnt geyt certification unless I had a degree as a dietishin?? Because with most people the diet is 80% of thier problem
