AAS and the ability to heal wounds?

megadad

New member
If ur on a cycle and happen to gash urself on your leg for example, would your body's natural ability to heal the wound be diminished at all??
I ask because I just finished my second cycle of test E and tren mix and during this last run a gashed my right shin somehow which I don't remember how cuz it was just one of those things.....probably happened playing with my kids in the park LOL.....anyway, it never really healed up, got infected and left a hole in my skin that u would think would have closed up with a scab. It went on like this for over 2 months and I just recently went to doctor for antibiotics and topical care which didn't work then needed surgery to have hole and the dead skin around it removed in order for it to heal up properly. I don't believe it but the doctor told me it was due to the steroids and that I should think twice about anymore cycles cuz they "may" have diminished my body's ability to heal wounds properly......what do u guys think?? In my research I have never heard of this before with using testosterone but could the trenbolone have done this?? It was a 200 mix of 50mg acetate, 100mg enanthate and 50mg Parabolan, very reliable source and quality.....
My stats are 33 yrs, 6'5", 260 lbs, eat VERY clean 7 times a day, lifting all my teenage years, off n on thru my early 20s and consitently 5-6 days a week for over 6 years now. Couple Deca n test Cyp cycles in early 20s and 2 cycles 4 months apart this past year of test E n tren mix as stated above, each lasted 12 weeks.......
Please help me out with any info u guys can provide! Thanks!!

a little bit yes, but to blame steroids for your situation is stretching it bigtime. sounds like you had a deep injury that got infected and whether you were on or not it would of not mattered.

having said that if i am gonna have some type of surgery or tooth removal i make sure I am well off cycle, don't want to take any chances. nothing worse than having a tooth taken out and bleeding for hours and hours after, not fun at all.

the idea is a high RBC count and other high kidney values that you typically get from AAS will cause blood clot issues. guys that take 2 grams of roids for years straight are taking a big risk with this.

I hurt my back on sustanon and I went from not being able to roll over in bed to walking as if nothing happened 3 days later. Seems like it would have taken longer off cycle.

^^^ thats not what he was asking. your muscle injury healed up faster cause of the high RBC count, faster blood flow going through your body.

in his situation he had a wound injury where the blood did not clot properly. high RBC can be a help but it also can hurt.

you can aid your situation by giving blood while on cycle.

Thanks for replies......yeah, I can understand the RBC count issues, makes sense.....my doctor mentioned it was due to the steroids ability to increase body temperature and reduce swelling which could relate back to the decreased clotting capabilities......I also had a bone spur shaved down on the bottom of my right foot which was also blamed by the AAS due to them creating a false sense of strength and by me squatting n leg pressing more than my body's natural ability.....not sure I believe that one as AAS help one repair muscle tissue faster to help them grow to lift more, of course as long as one eats to feed the muscles the nutrients they require to grow n repair......either way, I'd like to get more opinions or experiences with this if anyone has any.....never had these issues on Test n Deca but maybe since these last two cycles were my first on trenbolone then maybe that was a side of the tren on top of the typical insomnia n night sweats.....

Interesting question , something I have been wondering myself , at different times during a cycle and have really only experienced this with tren cycles , if I scratch myself , it seems to over clot , not sure how to explain it , but get alot of black blood directly underneath the small scab itself , no matter where it might be on my body ?

Higher RBC is a double edged sword, more red blood cells to carry oxygen BUT more red blood cells equal thicker blood, harder to pump and get moving.

Even with normal lab range you some folks can tell quite a difference between mid lab range and high normal lab range.

Higher RBC can also cause clotting issues.

So how can the higher RBC cause clotting issues?? I would think it would b easier to clot due to the thicker blood.....I understand the thicker blood will raise pressure and make it harder to move thru the body but for instance, one does not get a tattoo while drunk because the alcohol causes the blood to thin making it more succeptable to bleeding and not clotting. Does the higher oxygen content in the blood cause the clotting problems??
Anything else that could cause my issue?? I would have thought it was due to my immune system being down as well as my reduced ability to fight off infection while on Tren.....I do take vitamin B, C n D supplements religiously even when I'm not on cycle along with my daily multivitamin, recently switched to Animal Pak......with my overall excellent health and eating conditions, I rarely get sick and would think getting an infection on a wound would b the least of my worries.......I have always been a fast healer, never broke any bones in my life but this one has me stumped n made the doctor scratched his head because of my health but again, blamed it on my cycle use......

Once I get my post surgery evaluation and get the bandage removed around my shin I will take a pic of the area n post it up.....hopefully it will b healed up perfectly but that won't b known until my appt on Jan 2nd.....
Please keep replies n opinions coming as I am interested to hear what my fellow EF members have to say, especially anything on my secondary issue of the bone spur on my foot that was also blamed on my synthetics use.......thank fellas!!

So how can the higher RBC cause clotting issues?? I would think it would b easier to clot due to the thicker blood.

It is easier to clot and thats what causes issues. It can actually block tiny blood vessels.

yeah, that's exactly what I thought few minutes after is posted.....thicker blood clotting in the vessels.....so would that b a possible cause, maybe my blood vessels in that area of my leg/shin got clogged and weren't able to transport fresh blood to repair that area of subcutaneous tissue? Seems like a possibility.....
