Aaaagh fucking Internet Explorer- help!

I have just got this new notebook, 'all set up for you sir, no you don't have to do a thing sir, yawdie yar'.

I am trying to access my Elitemail with IE, I enter my name, press enter and the screen clears as it does. Normally you have to wait a moment for the Java(or whatever) to load. The browser just 'hangs' no password prompt appears. I am sure that Java is enabled.

Anyone help me here, I really need to use my email.

you sure you got everything enabled?

don't you have to download the hush engine (or whatever the fuck you call it) the first time you use it from a computer? did it prompt you for the install?
