A Tribute to Chris

I wasn't sure which board to post this on so I hope it's okay if I chose this one. Please forgive me if I seem a little off as it is a very sad day for me as well as many others.
You may remember or even saw pictures of a blind athlete by the name of Chris that Needsize did a post on a little bit ago.
Well, last night Chris chose to leave this world.
I had the great opportunity to work with Chris in preparing him for his first show last fall. I enjoyed every minute of my time with him, with his funny jokes and carefree attitude. Chris was a funny and pretty much amazing guy and I for one am going to miss him greatly. I invite any one that has anything to say about Chris to please post.
Because I'm a little upset at this time, Needsize, can you please post the pic of Chris again for me ? Thanks.

Fly to the Angels my friend. We will miss you.

I did not see the post but I am sorry for your friend...sounds like a brave guy to get up and do that when he could not see.

Here are a few pics from the show that Chris did in Oct this past year. I've trained around him for years, and would have had a ton of respect for him even if he was not blind. He was a focused, dedicated trainer, and the strongest person in the gym (We have over 3000 members).
i was looking forward to competing against him this year
Sorry for the non platinums, i cant post full sized pics

Thanks gymrat for doing those full sized

To say Chris was an amazing athlete would be an understatement. In every sport he had done, he excelled to the the elite level. He was a Nationally ranked armature wrestler, an accomplished judo player, and without a doubt he would of torn up the Bodybuilding scene.

A great athlete, and a better friend.

Losing a close friend is horrible... I wish you the most sympahty and God Bless him as well.

I met Chris about a year ago. We worked out at the same gym. Along with Frye, needsize, gymrat, etc. etc..

I don't have much to say right now, I'm still pondering things.

Chris will truely be missed, but not forgotten. Take comfort in the fact that he is in a better place.

Guys like that are an inspiration to all of us. My sympathies.
Ever wonder why steroids are illegal to obtain but any asshole can drink his face off and get behind a wheel an kill innocent people and not pay for it till its to late.

I'm with you on the pondering, I still can't believe he's gone.
And yes, we will always have our memories.

I wasnt going to post as I dont much care for those who commit suicide. BUT........I feel for those of you who lost a friend, I feel for his family and i I am sad that his pain led him down this path.

I want to give my sympathies and prayers to Chris, his family, friends, and the board members here who knew him.

This is the first i've heard of him, however, he sounded as if he were one of a kind....a real inspiration for everybody to look up to.

I'm very sorry to hear about his death. My condolences go out to his friends and family. I know all about losing someone close. Take of yourselves fellas, life is short.

damn man.:( i hate when this kinda shit happens. i can't even imagine what it is like to be blind but to also compete is very brave. this guy deserves respect in the deepest sence of the word. very sad. i will never forget ya brother!!

the world is a darker place without him.
he's in a much better place now.

He truely was an inspiration to those that knew him, especially those that trained around him. He took a deficit that would stop any of us from working out at all, and turned it into a strength

You know, every day that Chris would come to the store, practice his routine and his posing, when he left after our hour or hour and a half sesssion, it was like I felt like I could do anything! There was nothing that could bother me. He inspired me to be the best trainer/fitness coach that I could be. He made me realize how much I really love what I do for a living. Teaching the mandatories poses to him was a challenge but he never got frustrated, he just kept trying and eventually he got them and he got them good! Even though I was teaching him, he taught me a great deal as well. He gave me back my passion for the business. Never in my life, have I seen anyone work that hard to get up on stage. It was something that he truly wanted to do and I'm honoured that Chris wanted me to be a part of it.
For whatever reason there is for what happened, I hope you are in a happier place. I will never, ever forget you.

my thoughts and prayers are with you all, his family, and him. In a situation like this, you never know what was going through his mind... its very sad. :(

he was a good guy to say the least, very positive and upbeat. its very sad what happened and depressing to know that something could change a man like that and make him take his life. may he rest in peace and look down on all of his fellow iron brothers and give us inspiration. rest in peace big man

Judging by what you guys have said, and what Chris has done in his lifetime, I think it would have made me a better person had I gotten a chance to meet him. God bless you all for being so supportive of him.

Shit happens bro. A freind of mine died yesterday morning. Cause of death was overdose on sleeping pills. It's just a fucked up situation. I feel for your pain bro

It sounds like he was a good man. May God be with those he left behind.

sorry to hear this

Sometimes people just can't deal with certain things in this life. He is happier where he is at now... use him to inspire you for the rest of your life in and out of the gym. After my brother passed away from an OD of methadone and xanax I found a renewed passion to live life for him... for the better. My brother was a bodybuilder as well.

Just think... all the great bodybuilders that have passed on the heaven. They are all still slammin the weights with God spotting them.

Little tip: when you are struggling with that last rep, just look up for the strength of your good friend. You'll be surprised at how much stronger you'll become. They are definitely up there watching and helping us. Realize that for the rest of your life you'll have a guardian  watching over you.

God bless you Chris....I know your in a better place.

Wow... i am in disbelief. I talked to him alot on msn and he always was helpful and an enjoyable person to talk too.

This is a very sad day.
