A Special Christmas

This year though by myself while my other half is with family I will reflect on what has been brought back into my life and the lives of others.


What this holiday brings is anew found appreciation for family, respect for each other, and a place in our heart for those who protect us. After 9/11 things changed and feelings changed. A US Flag coats my car, a firemen and policemen (my brothers are NYFD) get a new found respect for what they do, our military to some viewed as a joke have gained my respect and my prayers as they are in worlds far away protecting our freedom and missing there families and the ones they love.

We have all become closer even if we choose to ignore it. This year the real meaning of Christmas will shine and people will come together and rejoice over a new found common respect. I wish I was home in NY with my family but through teary emotions and thoughts this will be the most meaningful Christmas ever. God looked over my brothers as they saved others and saw there firemen brothers die. With the exception of scars for what they saw and what they did they left the WTC safe and unhurt.

To all of my brothers and sisters here on Elite happy holidays to you and your families. May this year be the most special and meaningful holiday ever.

Good post flexed.....hopefully your right on target...although I know some people.....like for instance some of my friends' family don't seem to care if this Xmas should be a particularly special one or not......some parents just have a way of ruining things I guess.....I thank the Lord everday its not mine......

Hope you all have a great Christmas or some other holiday and remember how lucky you are to have the people you love in your life and let them know that too.

Every Christmas since my real mom died when I was 12 has been empty and to be truthful meaningless. This year I am by myself though my friends all want me over. I just opened two back to back restaurants in Houston and had no time to even think about Christmas.

As it got closer and my other half left on Thursday my hotel room was filled with emotions of Christmas as I watched specials on TLC about September 11th. One was about the firemen which left me in tears and for the first time I can recall wanting to be home for Christmas with my brothers and family.

Yes up to now its meant not very much but I can say at my age I have just rediscovered what Christmas is all about and wish I was not by myself as its very difficult. This year was so good to me and now i want to be part of family and can't. As hard as that is a least I have learned what life and Christmas is all about outside of money and succuess.
