Understandable I don't like getting noticed or singled out (although it happens all too often). I'm super shy and also don't like people complimenting me for the most part as I try to always be humble in life.
This is why everytime I run into a soldier/serviceman out somewhere I try and thank them and shake their hand. They do so much for so little and with little or no thanks.
The US embassy in Costa Rica's 4th of July party is my favorite holiday of the year, they bring marines, soldiers, etc. Im so proud and thankful to have them around, for us abroad it is indeed a great honor to have soldiers defending rights for citizens all over the world.
Wish I could join the army, I wonder if they'd take me, I was to afraid to enroll and get rejected do to an eyesight condition on one of my eyes.. now that I'm returning home Ill see if it's possible... defending my country would be an honor, it makes me mad to hear people critizicing soldiers, war is their work not their decision, they do as they are told because they have pledged to serve their country.... that's why people like Michael Moore walking up to mourning mothers of soldiers telling them the war is bogus and their children died for nothing pisses me off.... but hey, we cant all think alike and I respect that...
