I gotta say, there is a lot of crap on here and what not, but I have met some people on here that although I've never talked to in person, have had an impact on my life, most of them in very positive ways.
This online stuff really is some new niche of social interaction. Funny how I think most non message board users in real life would probably look down on someone who posted regularly on a chat board, but then again many chat board users think that public chat ROOM users are some sort of losers. But chat rooms provide some people their main form of social interaction and entertainment. Moms online chatting all day and not paying attention to their kids, etc.
