i was just watching the news and they are installing these machines in the 8 largest postal sorting sites in the nation and hopefully more later. they shoot radioactive waves through the mail, and they say EVERY package that goes to these centers will get zapped. it kills all bacteria in the packages, and alerts (i saw it working, a big light goes off and the conveyor belt stops) the postal people if there is any bacteria. they then said the only problem is that it can damage and ruin other products, like photos, electronics, etc. i'm wondering about gear, if it will be destroyed, weakened, or if it will set the alarm off? this sux!!!!
